Many congrats! That is a tough as hell school to get through. They have to be much smarter than I am!! AWESOME!!
Thta is great Ken. Your son is doing real well. My son is in the AF (about 10 months now) and ended up assigned to Creech AFB near Vegas. He is a sensor operator for the drone program. He is operating the Predator and the Reaper right now. He really loves it....most of the time.
Thanks..I believe they have made the best choice for beginning life. What amazes me is the amount of respect they get in public. Complete strangers stop him in public to thank him for servng his country. I remember VERY WELL the crap that went down during/after the Vietnam War era. So that makes it extra amazing.
Good Sh*t!! As a 14 year Soldier at this point, it's nice to see that a kid can become a man or woman so quickly and be of service to their nation. We are and will be at war for some time and it's good to have a strong base at home. Tossing your own ass out of a plane is no thing to laugh at. I enjoy my time under canopy and love the jump, just hate the landing part. Your son is gonna be busy and one of the most respected men in uniform down range. I've been out and seen many services provide EOD techs. All are great assets and are lifesavers. And to NetNathan, I appreciate the eye in the sky your son provides. I'm sure he loves us clearing airspace for them to put steel on target with either the pred or Reaper. V/R SFC J.B. 1/3 SFG(A) Fort Bragg, NC
Thanks... My son also speaks of the deep responsibility and pressure when he is your "eye in the sky" during engagements. I am also unbelievably amazed (as is Ken....I am sure) at how fast they truly become men as they are exposed to conquering these challenges. You can "feel it" even when you can only talk to them on the phone. ..
Jared qualified as "EXPERT" with his M-4. That's a 10" barrel. Wish I could have one here in California!
Jared's latest achievement. :usflag: Jared also picked up E5 last week. He's excited to be able to move off base, and be paid to do it! Ken
