Looks like our son Wes's mother-in-law Linda has pancreatic cancer. Doctor said 100%. Biopsy was this morning. MRI's have given enough info, along with other symptoms, so the biopsy is basically a formality at this time.Looks like it may have spread to her liver and stomach. She is only 3 months older than Cindy, just 60. Sara is flying over tonight to be with her in Hesperia, CA. I'm taking them to the airport in a few hours. We will be watching Cole till next Wednesday, would be longer but, we fly to San Jose for work. Surgeon said they will need a miracle.
Oboy, and I just posted some funnystuff cause I was bored, and youre looking at this... I´ll have you in my thoughts and hope for the best, you all hang in there for the family! Fredrik:shock:
You got it Hal buddy. Prayers go out to her. That's tough stuff for sure. Hope they get that miracle!!
I thought I sent a reply but must've been interrupted. My prayers for her and for all her family including you and Cindy, Hal.
Prayers will be said for you and yours... this is a really horrible situation, and I'm sorry you all are going through it.
The biopsy is back and the tumor is malignant, as suspected. I guess Linda may be coming to Cancer Center of America in Phoenix for a second opinion and possible treatment. Even if not, she may stay at Wes and Sara's as long as she can. Sara's 3 siblings have never been married nor have any kids, and Wes and Sara have Linda's only 4 grandchildren. They have no down stairs bedrooms, and just a half bath.
So sorry to hear this, Hal. I know your family's already had a rough year. It'll be tough on Wes and Sara, but at least she'll get some time in with those who love her. More prayers and love for you and your family.
Also found out today a young man who had a crush on Tina in the 80's, and had become a friend of the family was found dead on 2/28. They say he had been missing since December 10th. I had an email from him on 12/17, but just a link he gave me that didn't work. No personal note, and I didn't respond. He did get married, had a little boy, and a messy divorce. He was such a nice guy. No spark from Tina, but she was his friend. He felt sorry for us one year when we lived in Hesperia, CA. he had us over for Thanksgiving dinner. Tina was married and in Seatlle, and Wes had moved to Phoenix. We met him for dinner a couple of times around the Ontario Mills area. RIP Rick Wolford, I will miss you.
If its any consolation, Madeline still loves that teddy bear you got her when she came so early. Still one of her favorites. And she tells me "Faster Mommy! Faster!" when I get on the freeway now.
Thanks again for the support. It means a lot to me and my family. Update. The biopsy came back positive. Linda will be coming to Phoenix tonight. Her mother is pretty well off and has signed her up at The Cancer Treatment Center of America in Goodyear, AZ. It's 50 miles from Wes and Sara's house. So there will be a lot of 100 mile round trips in their Expedition. Not only that, Wes was fired yesterday. Single income family with 4 kids. When it rains, it pours.
Linda is now a patient of Cancer Centers of America. She will undergo quite a surgery on March 30th. They will be removing her gall bladder, 1/3 of both her stomach and small intestine, and part of her pancreas along with the tumor, followed by chemotherapy and possible radiation. They are very hopeful and it will be a long hard recovery.
Well, there's hope my friend... and that's more than many cancer patients have... there's a light at the end of the tunnel, it just takes time to get there on occassion. Have said some prayers and I will continue to do so.
