couldnt have put it better myself! weve been together for 5 years now. the first 3 years i was still in the marines and i was always deployed or in nc while she was up in jersey. i was a cheating shithead and did whatever the fuck i wanted. after i got out, i became a the "perfect" boyfriend and things were great. then she started tightening the vice on my nuts, flipped out at me because i flirted with some girl, the last week has been the cold shoulder. im tired of this shit so im going back to staying out as late as i want wherever i want with whoever i want whenever i want doing whatever i want.

Distance is hard, Makes things HARDER for the long run. Atleast you're figuring it out now, as opposed to going back to the sandbox and playing happy couple for that time just to come back and have shit hit the fan again.

Screw changing for people and being that "perfect" person. be who you are all the time, People have to adapt to WHO you are and WHAT you are about/stand for.

Plus you always realise how great it is not to have a "honey do" list or have to go to stupid dinner parties you dont want to, or "check" in while out with your friends drinking.

the way i see it, im only a cheater cuz shes not a swinger!!!!!! marriage push has come. came danger close. bought her a ring next thing you know she goes crazy on me. i couldnt take it back myself because i was deployed, she was sane enough to do that for me. next thing i know, boom 8k back in the bank=mod money! she actually hates HHP for "taking all my money". im still technically in the relationship so i dont know about the freedom, but its so close i can taste it. but for right now i just have to put up with her nagging the fuck out of me. fortunately one of my buddies works the night shift so i have a place to go during the day (he's golfing today though). ugh, kill me.

I was in the same boat as you about 6 years ago. I had a girlfriend whom I dated for years and the marriage issue came up repeatedly back then....I am lucky I never got married to her. I would have been miserable. The best way I found to get over her was to get on top of someone else. It was still tough, but sooo much more pleasant when there's someone else to help keep your mind off things. That one didn't last long but I'm happily married now to another, and she's awesome to me. Hang in there bro.
