This friday is going to be the first time I have taken the srt to the track... I have a 300c... Can I get any suggestions from yall.. I am coming from a FWD turbocharged srt4...... mods are basic, intake, thermo and cmr tune by super STEVE @ RDP
JUST FLOOR IT!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha.... I would say from another DR n00b with the SRT8...the biggest thing is getting a feel as to how much throttle you can give it off the line without just spinning the tires (if you have the stock tires)....get that dialed in and you should be good to go....just takes a little time and practice...maybe dropping the PSI down to the high 20's in the tires wouldnt hurt either got your helmet ready? :happy: haha
Put ice on the intake between runs. Use a 25 cent fan mod (a jumper wire for one of the fan relays so that you can run the fans when the car is turned off) (There's a how-to over at LXF)...do a small burnout (2-3 seconds) ...nothing crazy is warranted on street tires. Rev to 1200-1350 rpm, roll out a some and mash it. Let the car shift for you with ESP off. Feel the car's launch out based on your observations as you go. (You may need more RPM but probably less than 1350..depending on track and conditions) Use about 28psi (some use less) in the rear tires and pump the fronts up to 45+.
Yeah ice the intake take a big cooler with a few bags of ice, I usually break down the ice and put it in zip lock bags so it will fit under the bar over the intake take a few towels as well and put it along the side of the intake to catch the melting water the track will frown if you are dripping water at the staging area.
I will be on street tires... I know the backs are at like 38 PSI right now... so I need to put it down quite a bit then eh ?
also easiest way to adjst the tires are via a tire gauge I am assuming.. I have seen some say they can do it via the predator.. or is that a myth buster LOL Thanks guys I will have more ?'s to ask I am sure
yeah tire gauge is the way to go....i do not think you can adjust tire pressure with the predator lol... thats where the little air pump thing in our trunk comes in handy! haha
True I swear I read that you could, I might have been on "crack" that day.... that is easy enough then..... i dont think i have an air pump in the back of the car.. i will need to look tonight... i know i have the can o goo lol
yeah they plug into the cig lighter...its a mixture of an air pump and the goo stuff to fix a flat tire... which is great as long as your flat is a hole and not a blow out lol.... mainly it can be used to adjust air pressure while at the track :happy:
That is what I was thinking...I have an inflater that work with the Craftsman 18volt drills, that I take with me when I go play.
i just noticed that... but it looks as if i can use the air pump by itself or a combined effort with the goo ? or am I way off ?

rear tires to 24 psi fronts to 45.Keep the motor as cool as possible.Drive AROUND the water!Do a burnout just till you see smoke roll off the tires.stage as shallow as possible,load the converter and roll into the throttle smoothly on the third yellow.
If you don't have the fan mod, roll the windows down on the way back and put the defroster on high heat, that usually pulls the temps back down under 200 easily. Remove as much weight, ie. kids car seat, anything in trunk, etc. Have fun.
