One Agent has died from wounds sustained during the attack. The Agents involved were assigned to the Attache' office in Mexico, and were driving in a armored suburban. They came across what appeared to be a Mexican military checkpoint along a highway, were stopped and it was requested they roll down their window to speak with the "authority" on site... but it wasn't the Mexican military. It was a cartel roadblock (disguised in military attire, vehicles, etc.).

Special Agent Jaime Zapata was killed. I don't know more and if I did, I couldn't say anyway. Please keep the victims in your prayers.

Everyone "here" is wondering what the American government response will be... when DEA Agent Camarena was killed in Mexico years ago, we SEALED the border until those responsible were brought to US Customs to be arrested. Within a few days, Mexico gave them up. Now, we will see what the current administration's resolve is.

Prayers are with the family and those involved. Tragic to say the least.
