Its just a huge marketing ploy. Seriously, if you want to save gas so much, stay at home and get a motorcycle/moped or bicycle. Instead, these stupid car companies are just looking for new ways to sell what is essentially a piece of crap go-cart with airbags and a stereo.

I cannot stand it when governments and especially private corporations (under pressures placed by govts and other bureaucracies) try to save us from ourselves. Makes me sick. I'm going out this evening to do at least 10 wot's on my favorite roads. Only way I can do my part in fighting the Eco-Nazi's.

This is one of the all time stupidest ideas anyone has ever had. Seriously. Sometimes you HAVE to floor it to avoid an accident or something, better not be driving a Nissan then I guess. And make sure your life insurance policy is current. Geez, what will they think of next?!?!

sometimes you need to floor it .. like when your passing through an intersection and the lights turning red or when your trying to get out from behind a tractor trailer on a highway, or even when your pulling onto a busy road from a side street .... this eco pedal is going to kill people.
Exactly... I learned to drive based on my mom's philosophy of Offensive Defensive driving...ya know, get the hell out of dangerous/hairy situations by using the gas pedal. Duh! She works for an insurance company now and I'm sure she'll feel the same way when I tell her about this. Stupid stupid stupid!
says you can turn the system off, but still.. how freakin retarded and what a waste of research and technology.. if people are so worried about their gas, they would buy a super fuel efficient car, ride the bus, get a vespa, etc. or, heres a NUTTY idea.. don't friggin floor it, if your worried about your gas mileage. i am going to HATE the cars that are available in 10 years.. they are all gonna be either some stupid hybrid, or super low powered, ugly ass cars that top out at 65mph. things are gonna go in reverse for the car enthusiasts.. i can see it now.... in 2025.. at the drag strip.. the fastest car runs on goats milk, and does a 28.425 second in the 1/4 mile.
