    tam, you have nothing to worry about with the airhammer. you wont get flagged or even looked at funny. we are talking about the big boys running heads/cam, high flow cats, or even more powerful engines. these would fail both tests in a regular shop.

    it is true if you fail you need to go to a special shop for each new test. lots of shops provide an insurance though, if you fail, they will keep it on the low until you fix what was wrong and have it done again.

    the last car that this happened to me was an old mustang, i had to get new cats and return. no special shop for me.

    Yeah, there's a smog shop just down the block with an import shop next to it.

    Put the stock box back on when you get it tested. You probably haven't cleaned and oiled your filter on the hammer. When you do that you should let it sit overnight anyway to let the oil spread and, if you put too much on it, to let that drip off. You can run around with the stock box while you're working on that :grin:

    Nah, I got a second airhammer filter for just that reason.
