Ok guys i am so lost with this! I can either go michelin (through the dealer i use for truck tires) or there is a place called tires west that deals with nitto. BUT.... I want to do the widest rear tire for stock srt rims and a 275 for front? So who is the tire guru that can help me with the sizes and tires i am looking for? I know that you guys like the vredseins but i think they are kinda a hassle to get up here.I dont know if canada has someone that deal with them. But anyhow you guys know this stuff so i am checking with all the wise one's first. What sizes can i do for a stagered and what brand is doing them? Thanks Fella's! OH by the way, The michelins are just as much as one of my freaking truck tires and its 1/10 th the size!
I've been running 295/40-20 Goodyear RSA's for over 2 years. They look identical to the OE RSA's. But they are only H rated, or 130 MPH. I've been looking at discount tire Pirelli P Zero's in a 245/45-20 and 285/40-20's. Price isn't too bad either. Also looking at the Nitto Invo's with 245/45-20 and 275/40- 20. I like the Vredsteins, but I don't want to run 275's on all 4 corners, and their 315's are too wide for stock rims.
Come on you drive a truck, nothing extra ever comes back with you when you cross border (just kidding)? Vredestien is the way to go 275/40ZR/20 on all corners.
the Nitto 420's are a good all around tire, quite and will last you well & handle pretty on the street .. when pushed on the road course they somethings to be desired.. not real bad but not great either .. The Invos hold up better on the road course but to me when again pushed the sidewalls are little soft and give more than i like them too.. but it also may be a pressure setting as well.. Invos and 420's are stock staggered set up 245/45/30 up front and 255/45/20 in back.. on a Mag... I am interested in trying out the Vreds, but am considering options.. in some of the time trials events I participate in I am limited to 255 tire widths.. so technically 275 put me out of spec.. would they complain.. maybe if I was taking all of the contingency money.. but I am not.. but the 275/40 aspect ratio will give me a slightly shorter tire height & I have heard that the Vreds sidewall is pretty stringent, along with the grip is equal to the Invos.. so if give up a few TT events for a wider tire maybe... still debating.. I am worried about 275s on all 4 corners and whether they will have rubbing issues when pushed hard... To answer your question for a good performance street tire Nittos are not a bad choice adn a good value.. but Toyos and Falkens are out there too that many have had good luck with..
What? What?, I have no idea what your talking about! lol. Shhhhhh.US/CANADA customs might be listening/watching. I will be looking for ya! Most of the time i run around 290/294 but some times i go threw on 94.I can spot that yellow bee for a mile! Thanks.I actually found a VREDS dealer up here from the west coast.Might actually try those. You guys wanna know the price on the michelins i was quoted. This is before change over cost.........$560.00/tire. Thats more than a truck tire(steering being the most expensive) I run steering tires all the way around.Looks really nice.It costs me $5000.00 for tires per truck. But $2400.00 for tires i will burn up before i can wear them out? NO WAY! lol
Talk to Cam about the 420's. He hated them. Said he took them off after about 800 miles. I'm seriously looking at the N-05's now. The have a 255/45-20 and a 275/40-20 that look like a very serious summer tire.
The Nitto NT - 05's 275's are out with the 255's to be release this week at distibutor's is what I was told, before the end of Feburary
Nitto NT-05's have a 200 treadwear rating and have an aggressive pattern. I may look into those this Summer if I replace the Toyos; they look sweet!!
I have the BF Goodrich G-Force KDW-2 Rears 285/30-20 Front 255/35-20. Shorter sidewall for minimal sidewall flex and real sticky. Also lowered the car slightly with KW V2's to get rid of the gap from the top of the tire to the fender well due to less tire from a shorter sidewall.
