Components: All of our HEMI short blocks are designed and built to modern muscles' stringent standards. We utilize only the finest components available on the market today to deliver superior performance and reliability. Our strokers start out with either a 4.080" stroke K1 Technologies crankshaft or a 4.050" stroke Callies Compstar crankshaft. Both are forged 4340 steel crankshafts. Connecting rods are also forged or billet 4340 steel 6.125" H-beam rods that are shot peened for superior strength and durability. (Additional rod choices are available including I-beam rods) Pistons are selected specifically for your goals and needs. Pistons are available in multiple compression ratios, compression distances, ring pack setups. Valve reliefs are optimized and the critical aspect of the intake valve relief is analyzed and optimized to reduce hot spots and ringland strength at the base of the intake valve relief. Quench areas are analyzed for optimal combustion and resistance to pre-ignition. Our ring packs are specifically designed for maximum oil control which is expecially critical in a short deck stroker motor. Piston coatings are available for piston tops and piston skirts. Machining: The rotating assembly is balanced to exacting standard for a fast revving, vibration free powerplant. The mains are align honed for perfect cranksaft alignment and performance. The cylinders are bored to the exact specifications called for by the in house engine designer, of course using a torque plate to maintain perfect cylinder concentricity. This will produce a perfect piston to cylinder wall clearance. Piston to wall clearance is critical and is calculated based on engine usage, piston material. Inadequate piston to wall clearance will produce excessive cylinder wall and piston skirt scoring. Excessive piston to all clearance will cause oiling issues, piston skirt damage and the production of excessive engine noise producing false knock. Assembly: All engines are fully blueprinted and assembled in our dedicated, clean engine assembly room. The following critical measurements are checked prior to assembly: main bearing clearance crankshaft endplay rod bearing clearance rod side clearance wrist pin clearance cylinder bore cylinder taper cylinder roundness piston to wall clearance piston skirt diameter hand ground ring gaps ring gaps piston rock deck clearance rod bolt stretch break away and rotate torque many other critical dimensions and clearances Long blocks and crate motors: Fully assembled long blocks and crate motors are available.
