-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These have been in testing for 6 months and we finally able to release them. Entire kit was designed and engineered by Ferrea Racing Good up to .650 lift with stock rockers Valvetrain is stable up to 8,000rpm and 65psi An FEA analysis was performed on the factory rockers after being subjected to 8,000rpm and .650 lift with no additional wear. The valves are Ferrea Competition Plus, easily the best valves on the market today. The springs are made by Pac Racing specifically for Ferrea to use with this valvetrain. Retainers are titanium and the locks/locators are machined and hardened. These components will be used in our new Stage III cylinder heads for $2695. With the larger camshafts we can use, these new Stage III heads/cam packages will make another 25-35rwhp over our current offerings. The valves are slightly longer than stock due to geometry issues. When the rocker pad stops rolling and starts to drag, that’s when you get valve tip failures, not to mention excessive rocker pad wear. So we are going with a longer valve length to start the initial travel path earlier on the rocker pad radius. This will allow for greater valve lifts. We then calculated the dual valve spring install height and placed the single radial groove where the clearance between the rocker belly and the top of the Ti retainer will not rub. This is our current Stage III setup: Intake Valve Head Dia: 2.100” OAL: XXXXX Tip length: .XXXXX Exhaust Valve Head DIa: 1.600” OAL: XXXXX Tip Length: XXXXX We also be offering 2.125/1.625 size valves for customers who are looking for every bit of hp available. For racing applications: PAC Alloy Dual Valve Spring (Pressures measured with a retainer step and seat locator thickness of .060” Seat Pressure: 160 lbs @ 1.715” Open Pressure: 450 lbs @ 1.115” Coil Bind: 1.030” Ferrea Competition Plus Valves have built a reputation as the industry's most reliable extreme duty valve. We, at Ferrea, are dedicated to providing the absolute best product on the market. Our extensive R & D programs provide tehcnological gains, which are implemented in each of our competiton plus valves. They are engineered for high rpm, high horsepower racing engines, and are chosen by many top NASCAR, Drag, and Oval & Sprint Car-racing teams. To manufacture the valves we use special aerospace quality alloys, including EV8-Z18, which provides high tensile strength. An exclusive two-step slow forging process ensures proper grain flow and virtually eliminates any damage to the material structure. The valves are then heat treated and stress-relieved over a 48-hour period, which is the crucial base of our molecular integrity. These valves feature avionics-quality hard chrome along with a specially applied hard tip. Our engineering staff at Ferrea spends countless hours conducting flow bench tests to achieve an optimum balance of flow, velocity and efficiency in the design of this valve. As a result, these valves incorporate smoother radiuses and unique undercuts. These exclusive features are what make the Ferrea Competition Plus Valves unequaled in performance and reliability! Ferrea is once again setting the pace with its Competition Plus PQ Series Exhaust Valves, the next generation of exhaust valve technology. Due to the evolution in today's competition engine applications, temperatures are increasing and as a result, longevity is decreasing. Therefore, Ferrea is pleased to introduce our NEW! Competition Plus PQ Series Valve. This is a next generation exhaust valve made of an Ultra High Strength, High Temp Nickel Stainless Stell Alloy. Ferrea first used this material with great success during the development of a very high stress, high temp endurance racing program. This PQ Series next generation exhaust valve material will progressively replace Competition Plus Series valves as applications evolve and the material becomes necessary. Listed below are some qualities of the Next Generation Exhaust Valve material: Tensile strength increased by 20% at high temperature Fatigue resistance increased by 20% Valve seat life increased by 25%
Wow; These look really really good! I feel very lucky to be putting these on my build. This is a definite step up. Great job Andy!!!
More info on the valves added. You will be getting the 2.125/1.625 valves with new seats on yours. We will call them Stage IV cylinder heads.
Thanks for the email saying these are ready! lol My 6-71 build needs all it can get You should see the cam Ed ground for me WOW!
Sorry, we dont even have the first set. They should be here tomorrow I believe. Your build is looking very nice so far. He didnt get an email, he was busting my balls. Anyone can get the 2.125/1.625 as long as they pay for them. I agree. I cant wait to see some dyno results.
Very nice work. Sometimes I'm amazed at how beautiful well executed machined parts can look. Better than very nice, actually great work!!!
Wow!! Those are impressive Andy. Then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from you and Jeremy. Congrats, you'll sell a ton of em!!
I'm impressed Andy. Look forward to seeing them in action. What are you guys putting in Jeremy's car by the way? It's time to tell us something. LOL
Friggin sweet dude. Absolutely amazing. This may be a good next move for me. Keep all the great products coming Andy!!! Chase
Well I think its no secret that these heads will find their way onto his car and it would be a shame to have so much valvetrain control without going to a much larger cam and we might as well put a bigger converter in it also. I guess we will see March 14th how all the new parts are working. Thanks. When the time comes, I would be glad to answer any questions you have.
I will not be going that high, its just nice to know that the valvetrain is stable that high once we get some solid rollers. I will be reving this thing to 7,000rpm though.
