    **UPDATE: PICS IN POST #21**
    Here's the stock logo.....

Here's my new flat black logo.....

Here they are side by side.....

I've got 2 of the 3 painted, I'll be letting them dry tonite, and putting them on my Charger tomorrow. Here's an idea against the paint.......

I sanded the logos with 320 grit and painted them with 4 coats of this.....

I've got a new idea to nix some of the chrome on my Charger, and add some flat black in places. And after painting my exhast flat black, this was my next step. I'll post pics of them installed tomorrow night. What do you guys think? Honesty is good please.

    Hmmm....

I like the concept, but need to see them on your Jeep. I'm afraid they'll blend in to just a lump of non-descript black, at which point why not just de-badge?

They're going on my Charger, but either way I hear ya. Here's where my idea came from....

I'm getting a little tired of all the Chrome I have left on my car. I don't want to nix all of it but just a good bit of it. I've ALWAYS loved the old AAR Cudas. Now before all you Mopar nuts go crazy, I know my car will never be an AAR Cuda!!!! :) But I've always dug the use of flat black, on a shiny black car. Something sinister and muscle, yet cool about it. So that's the idea behind where I'm going. Just trying to add some flat black touches to it. Plus my entire engine bay is done in black. And I have a plan for my wheels too....

I like the idea Chase, but I'd be concerned how it looks dirty. Have you thought about the black carbon fiber logos John (Sdcarguy) got? and maybe paint in the SRT part a flat black. I think you may get a nice effect and still touch on what you're going after with that black chrome look....just a thought.

    Milan -
Not worried about what it looks like dirty, the car never sees rain. And I know of those carbon logos you are talking about, but I don't have any other carbon on the car. Trying to do just a little something nobody else has done yet.

    Curtis -
I know what you are talking about, and that's my point. I don't want much contrast. Like those old AAR Cudas, the flat black on a glossy black provides a very subtle detail! Only those who know......know! I only want the poeple paying attention, to understand. Know what I mean?

I think you guys will dig it when it's all done. I'll post pics when I get em on. And I really appreciate the honesty here fellas, thanks!

    Any other opinions?

It's a matter of personal taste, but I think painting the SRT camoflouges the distinctive badging.

I'm installing one of these on my hatch because I think the silver/red combination has earned a reputation of no-holds-barred, fun to drive vehicle. I'm proud to be the owner of a SRT.

Now, if you're trying to make a sleeper, that would be a different story. :sly:

I get it Chase. Stealthy, unique and subtle combined. I think you have good taste so I'd like to see the finished product. I can see people going, "WTF was that"? though hahahaha. Nice.

Looks cool! Like to see em on the car too. Yea, it's all personal pref though, don't worry bout what all us knuckleheads think, lol, just what you think! IMO I like them only I'd chrome the inside "SRT" part to match the chrome "8" but that's just me and I know, I heard you say you don't want the chrome.

It's a little rainy outside today, and my Charger stays in the garage when it's crappy out. Plus, I want to take some pics on a sunnier day, so you guys get the whole picture, hopefully tomorrow will be nicer outside. I could get them stuck back on, but all you'd get is closeups in the garage. I'll wait til tomorrow.......I really want you guys to get the effect of what I'm goin for here. Thanks to all that replied so far, and the honesty.

We really do man! It's not the first time we've mimmicked each other's ideas. I didn't even know you did your front emblem, please do throw a picture of it up if you get a chance. It's funny though, our rides are pretty different in the end result though! If BWoody comes through on my estimate for my wheels, the sled will have quite a different look in a month!

Okay, here we go! Here's some pics of the finished logos....
And here's some of the best shots I could get tonite, as I finally got home from work, the sun was already setting, and I didn't have much outdoor light left. I couldn't seem to get the flash right, whether to leave it on, or turn it off!!! I may try to take a few pics tomorrow afternoon....
