So the branch manager, office manager and sales manager were all having a meeting today. It took maybe two hours, everyone came out and my intercom beeped and the branch manager asked if I could come into his office... "don't worry, nothing bad!", he said. Ok phew. So over the last months I have been doing inside sales at work and been trying to increase business for our company because business has been slow as we all know - it's a global phenomenon by now. So the new plan is that I will be moving from my operations desk in the import department and will be doing sales four days a week and ops every Monday only. Doing both with time divided 50/50 just doesn't work so I have to remove myself from my everyday shipments and customers and will focus mainly on sales. I'm starting the new position next week so we'll see how it goes. If it works out, great, could be stepping stone to bigger things in the future - if it doesn't, I'll go back into ops. I have experience in sales from Europe and of course from my online gig but this is different. Bread and butter kind of different so wish me luck Oh and if you know a company who imports/exports freight to or from anywhere in the world, I'm your man
That's awesome brother! Hopefully it WILL lead to something better in the long run. They obviously see something in you they like!!!
Congrats on the move. I am sure it is a stepping stone for your growth within the company or the higher ups would not have offered it to you.
