hello, glad your diggin the new found power

as for water, the filter is within ~ 3 inches of the factory inlet, and sheilded by the grill, if someone wanted to we coudl get them one of the filter wraps to go over the filter but i imagine it would cost a few hp to use it. ive checked behind the grill on several occasions after running in heavy rain and there was no noticable water back there and a dry filter, just a few drops on the frame from the top of the grill after i popped the hood. i would say you would need to submerge the car in about 18" of water before you ingested any but by then your interior would be flooded :(

    I'm sold on the intake.

Looks like you've got the same car as me. :)

Your clip of the sound inside the cab is the first I've found on the internet. I have seen videos of the CAI oustide, but was concerned it would be too loud inside. I ordered it minutes after watching. Here are a few more videos I have found of the "outside" sound:

Jeff, You're going to love the power increase. It's well worth the money for the performance increase you'll see. Have you installed a sprint booster yet?

    No, no SB yet.
I've heard mostly good things about them.
Do you have the BDD 451A or BDD 451A2 on yours, and what is the difference between them? I did read one post on crossfireforum.org that stated that the A2 was the "lite" version, but then he said it was the "AMG" version.

See you in the fall to slay the Dragon. :viking:

I should be getting mine the same day as well. I have a SB put it mine and that alone makes the 6 a new beast, it does feel as though there's more power.

John, do you have a SB put in yours?

Yes, I have the SB installed. I was doubtful at first how something that makes the ecu think you're just pressing on the pedal harder would really work, but it does a great job.

Jeff, The correct part number is on the parts list.

    Thanks John.
I figure the guy who posted was suffering from a cranial rectal inversion if he called the A2 a "lite" version in one sentence, and the "AMG" version in the next. :stars:

Hey Jeff, I think they call the SRT version of the SB (which is the A2) the "lite" version because it is less aggressive of a throttle map than the regular A version. The reason for this is that the A was designed for the normally aspirated 3.2l V6, with only about 200 hp, there wasn't any problem with it smoking tire everytime you stepped on the gas. Put that same SB in an SRT and you shred a lot more tire. The A2 is by no means wussy, it just doesn't ramp up the throttle quite as hard as the A to give you some better control and allow you to decide if you want to smoke tire or not. I have the A2 and it is easy enough to smoke 'em. I wouldn't want the SB A version.

Put mine on last night. Took a lot longer than I was expecting, but the results were worth it. :yahoo:
Now if I can just decide on what type of pulley to get. :hmm:

    I just installed mine yesterday.
Took about 2 hrs, but I don't have much auto mech experience or tools.
The only hard parts were removing the radiator pass thru and getting the 90 degreee silcone tube on the throttle body.

    Love the new sound.
