I know you've probably seen this on the other site but I've enjoyed visiting this site so I figured I'd contribute here also. After giving alot of thought to which direction I wanted to go after the stock turbo it was actually my fabricator who put this seed in my mind. One of the things about me is that I don't like to play "follow the leader". If I'm going to drop some serious coin in my car I want it to stand apart from others. Once I was told that this was feasible and would be highly functional, it was on. Not one part (sans turbos/wastegates)in this "kit" is off the shelf. Everything was custom fabricated. Manifold/turbo's/wastegates before coating/polishing: Manifold/turbo's/wastegates after ceramic coating/polishing: So what your looking at is Garrett T-3 Super 60's, JGS 400 40mm wastegates. The super 60's are ~35 lb/min and capable of 35 psi each. The wastegates are able to handle 40+ psi each. Installed Pics: Keep in mind that the installation is not 100% complete yet so I have not taken the time to clean anything...... And a short vid of it running: Like I said this is not complete we still have some loose ends to tie up including: Small exhaust leak Injectors Connect E-01 Tune Clean up wiring Hopefully this will all be done in the next 2 weeks and dyno'd within the next couple months. We're going to be shooting for ~450 whp on pump with a very safe daily drive tune.
what are you looking to achieve with this setup? When its complete I would like to do a write up of it for the front page. :towel:
Oh indeed this will be one nasty SRT-4. Love the setup! Can we get a working link of the video of it running? It's not working in your post.
My short term goals are to have a reliable, daily driven, 400-500 whp (pump), 11 sec. Stock Block SRT4. I'm not looking to build the motor anytime in the near future but when I do it will be the works. We selected the turbos so that they would not need to be switched out for larger units in the future. I believe they will max out in the 800 WHP range. I would love the feature but if your going to wait for it to be complete you'll probably be waiting a long time. If things go well it will most likely be late next year before I go the motor and EMS route. My bank account needs to recover from this first.
It looks good. The only thing that I would prefer is to have all four cylinders feed to both turbos. This way you have more combustion pulses feed the spool.
We talked about a couple different manifold designs and decided in the end to go with the K.I.S.S. school of thought. Paired runners were an option (1-4 and 2-3) but space was the major obstacle there. I wanted what I consider a true twin turbo setup meaning no 1 cylinder feed more than 1 turbo. There is another kit out there that does exactly what you said and they have had great success with it. I can tell you, from a spool stand point, I see 5 psi almost immediately at throttle roll on. The wastegates are set to open around 4-5 psi so I can't say what will happen from there. Drive-ability right now is stock like.
reguardless of being complete or not I think this car is an amazing idea and people would love to know about why you did it, how you did it and all that fun jive.
Whatever you want man i'm all for it, LMK. And just to make it clear none of this would be possible if I didn't have a fabricator that is willing to face any challenge head on.
Amazing work! You told us you were going to do something big (but kept it a secret). Good luck and nice job.
I wasn't trying to keep it secret per say. It's just that I see people start these "My build up" threads that the never follow up on or end up parting out or selling their car in the middle. I just wanted to make sure it was actually going to happen before I spilled the beans.
