I recently purchased a trunk project from a friend of mine that was going to go on his car when finished but he decided a different route. He started the process and I will finish it... get it painted and then install it on my car. I've made this thread to show everyone the journey as well as keep track.

Its a stock trunk with a Carbon Fiber PVO spoiler molded on with the 3rd brake light and key lock shaved. I have to finish sanding, filling, and smoothing everything out then primer it.

Here are pictures of the trunk the way I got it...

The inner part of the trunk has Dynamat. I'm not a fan of it nor am I into sound systems outside of just upgrading factory speakers. I will be removing it as soon as I get a heat gun. I've tried removing it by hand and with a scraper and its a PITA.... the adhesive stuff is like tar. Here's a picture of the inner Dynamat lining...

As I progress with the project I will post and add pictures. I'm giving myself a project completion date for this to be done and painted by summer 2010.

ah man, I thought you were gonna share your junk in the trunk. haha

I can atest to Chris's deck lid. You are going to LOVE the new look once its done. Chris's skittle is SEX on wheels and one of my favorites. Now you have moved to the top 5 list. hehe

Oh man I can't wait! I like the way yours looks for sure. I have to agree, it does look much cleaner!

    Lol Ron!

This trunk will definately set off the rest of my exterior plans which I will have seperate threads for those as I get to them.

    I'm in Ron's top 5 :dancing:

Its comments like these that keep me motivated! Thanks!!!

This project is on stand-by. Been really busy with the holiday season, shopping and what not.

I need to get a air sander and a heat gun. Once I have these two items I will begin the progress and have pics. Hopefully beginning Jan.

Lmfao! You don't know how many times I did used her hair dryer for projects haha. She was like what is my hair dryer doing outside...

She has since got a new one which is PINK! I will not dare step outside with that lol

Lol, yeah my friend was motivated and the work you see so far was done by hand by him. I was like there is no way I am going to hand sand this till the finish.

Thanks! I think it goes great with the car especially molded :)
