Yesterday there was an event called Muscle Car Evolution at Silver Dollar Raceway here in Georgia. You guys are pretty familiar with the track since it is the one used for the SE Shindig every year. I was finally ready to run the car in with the mods that I have in tuned condition, which the last time that I ran, that wasn't the case. Long story short, I was FINALLY able to cut a 1.9 sixty foot (1.987 to be exact) like Hot Rod K said the car could do on street tires and snapped of a 12.541 at 112.43!! I only ran two other times and with one suffering a bit of heatsoak (12.664) and another with a sh$@%y 60 foot of 2.114 (12.803) the car still ran well. Two things that I did NOT do that I should have was air the tires down to around 28 to 30 PSI and jump the fans. I ran the car as I drive it daily with the Toyos at 36 PSI so maybe I could have done a bit better with airing them down. I still think that the car can run maybe a tenth or two faster and has another one to two MPH left in it with a better technique. On the 12.5XX run I took off at about 800 rpms (I have my idle set to 675 via the Predator), the 12.6XX I took off at 1000 to 11000 rpms and the 12.8XX I took off at 1500 rpms just to see if the car would hook. (IT DIDN'T!!) Oh but the best part was two of the cars that I beat; one was a new C6 Vette mods (cold air, tune and exhaust) and a 2.2 Kenne Bell 99-04 New Edge Mustang GT. Both races went just like the commercials state:

Racing against a car that will be a tough run - $500
Racing against a car with a smug owner who thinks that he wins easily - $1000
Taking both cars off the line and getting a lead of a car to a car and a half and holding it to take the win - PRICELESS!!!

Thanks for reading and here is the timeslip breakdown of the 12.541 pass (maybe a video soon if it came out well)

    R/T - .299
    60' - 1.987
    330 - 5.399
    1/8 - 8.155
    MPH - 88.96
    1000 - 10.542
    1/4 - 12.541
    MPH - 112.43
    Race weight - 4480 pounds

    2006 Magnum SRT8
Mods are PPP Road Warrior cam, PPP Underdrive pulley, BWoody thermal coated and ported intake manifold, Kooks lt headers with h/f cats, JBA/Borla "hybrid" exhaust, 180 t-stat, Volant CAI, hand ported/polished stock tb, and CMR tune by Injected Engineering.

Tell me what you guys think.

I never did make it over to see you guys. I talked a bit with two guys that had on black Viper shirts and a guy that had a new Challenger before my run with the Mustang after an SS Camaro had hit the wall. I believe one of the guys name was Mark but cannot remember the Challenger owner's name; he was funny as s#$t!! He told me to check out the site that you posted. I remember telling one of my buddies that I have never seen so many Viper trucks in one place before.

    Thanks Ron...

Yepper, Tony ran a 12.8XX yesterday.....First run of the day for him was a 13.2XX. TN Viper, I kept telling everyone that I wanted to see your truck run yesterday. Ron told me to look out for you and I saw you pull in but never got a chance to meet up with you. That truck of yours is one mean ass looking vehicle.

Thanks and wished we could have met....Before coming to the track we had a dyno setup with Torrie tuning with the SCTs. I was getting a fine tuning on a 110 octane flash when we discovered I was running out of fuel at about 4700 rpms. Truck rapidly leaned out so I was afraid to take it down the track. Stinker is getting me a hi-pro pump.

I really wanted to run bad as I was expecting high 11s. The truck hit 626 RWHP at about 5200 rpm when he shut down because of leaning. The dyno was similiar to a Mustang brand dyno which shows numbers about 10% less than the more popular Dyno Jet brand...probably could hit 700 on a the Dyno Jet here at home.

Better to be safe than sorry so I definitely understand not taking a chance on hurting something. Next event that they have I am sure that you will be ready and you can hit that 11 second pass. Keep me posted on the potential of VTCOA renting SDR again for a private track day. I will definitely be there.

The bugged thing is looking at your timeslips from the first time you ran to current and seeing how far you have come. I have picked up over a second in ET and 10 mph in the quarter from the first time I ran the car in Oct 2006 to now. Whatever the reason for the differential in ETs and MPH, I am happy with the setup.

My truck ran mid 13s stock...my best pass to date 12.18. I expected high 11s at SDR due to differences compared to Bristol...SDR is about 1100 lower and the temps were 30 degrees cooler Saturday......and the 12.18 was done on a 100 octane tune....I was going to use the 110 tune at SDR.
