Just checking on how many people occasionally get this code. I have a 426 with PPP Stage II heads, blue giant injectors, Arrington 90m TB and a relatively mild cam for a 426. Every once in a while my car will throw the random misfire code and display the CEL, seems to happen usually while idling and warming up. I can clear it with the Predator and it disappears for a few days. Is it possible it is always there and just takes the appropriate amount of key cycles to re-alarm? I just don't like driving around with the CEL lit up especially when people are checking out the car.
Not unusual with a cam. I've had them with all 3 cams I've used. Doesn't effect how the car runs. May have found a way to fool the other HAL. I'll let you know.
maybe our cars are brothers after all!! I had the same code at first, seems thst it has disappeared for good i hope.
I agree but I don't want to hit another deer on the trip to Independence, KY. lol Please do. Tim at PPP did mention it was fairly common with a lot of the 426's they had been doing at the time I was there. Well, retrace your steps please so I can do exactly what you did! You know, open the door with your left hand, sit in juuuuust so, pick up the sunglasses with the RIGHT hand, bla bla bla...lol
LOL...being that the "a" is right next to the "s" on a qwerty keyboard I am assuming you mean MSD. That is interesting. I have perused a couple of those threads with not much interest other than I like the red coil packs. Did you seriously notice a difference? I have used MSD 6AL ignitions on every single "fun" car I have had and was sold on them then. It absolutely cured a 454 chev I had with too fat a cam. I kind of got the idea the stock coils generated way more than enough energy and spark duration.
They do. Don't waste your money. More than a number of people have returned then or sold them. BJB with the 426 Jeep tried them and they didn't perform.
Haha, didn't your tuner take care of it? I haven't got one misfire code ever. Even with the base tune Josh sent me. Strange. :stars:
Get them all the time... My tuner make some adjustments... went away intially and now its back again....I just check with the Diablo everyonce in awhile to make sure there is no others but the random misfire.
I do the same thing. What is actually happening to trigger that code anyway? My car also just quit on me for the first time since the 426 yesterday. I was backing up out of a parking space, went to drive and poof. I may be imagining things but it seems right after starting the car up even when warm I am having to wait a couple of extra seconds for the car to find it's A/F ratio. TB? Weird. I suppose it could be whatever gas I got last...I have been very fortunate in no bad gas for years.
