I think a lot of the extra stuff is fluff....cool...but fluff. I personally don't use most of it. What I think makes us stand out from most, if not all, other forums is the visual advances that the site has. I would continue to find the latest visual advances/graphics as well as finding a way to allow higher bandwidth sigs without slowing it down. Not sure if that is possible..but the sigs Milan has created and subsequently slowed things down, are incredible and add great character to the site!

Excellent observations Rick. We actually have most of the updated visuals and will most definitely add as we go along. As for the visual of the site, All I can say is wait and see brotha. hehe You guys will most definitely like. Something we have discussed even BEFORE we started on creating the Connection. Woot!!!

More band width is possible, but VERY expensive. this comes from the Server and the hosting company. Eventually we will get there.

680+ which are staff... As a GENUINE (charter) member I'd like something I've seen at another (golf) forum.

A button for "show posts I've replied to". Displays a list of (recent - some reasonable time into the past) threads which you've started or posted in. The go-to-unread posts button is there so you can tell if the thread has been posted to since you viewed it last. Right now I almost exclusively use the "new posts" button but there are threads (ones that I've replied in) that I'd like to follow more closely without actually subscribing to.

Me personally...I agree with Rick. Graphically, we can stand apart from any car forum on the net and I would completely understand if you get someone whose way better than me since I want to see the C on a whole nudda leva. One thing that is very popular in the Mozilla Firefox world is the dark black/silver theme of a site with lighter text to stand out. If you check out the Aero Fox theme from the Mozilla add-ons site, it is one of the most popular ones and I think it looks pretty cool.

Unless I sign in, the time stamp on the posts are not correct (several hours off and I have not taken the time to figure out how many yet). I do not know any other site that works like that. I like to see what the new posts are since the last time I looked at the site but with the oddball times it is not intuitive. I know, just sign in and forget it. I read almost everything but don't post that often so I don't sign in all the time.

    We need a "WTF" smiley.
We need the "I dunno" guy smiley.

I love the idea to show who's in the chat on the home page.

I agree with Rick. You guys did a KILLER job on the original format. And more visual enhancements would be cool. I remember the first time I signed on to this forum, I thought the layout and color scheme was amazing! Just a damn good lookin site! But things like improving the way the garage looks across the top of the home page, giving the vehicles more definition. Things like that are up for improvement. A larger font to the threads and posts would be good, sometimes it's a little hard to read if it's late. :) I'd also like to see MORE "active topics" available on the homepage before they get kicked off. Sometimes this site has so much traffic, a thread will get started, and be kicked off the "active topics" real quick. Does that make sense?

I will wave my magic wand and get everyone on DS3 by v2...

sorry no go on the high bandwidth, we still have to care for the 56kers Advanced graphics are a big go though for the new site... and slim down of the payload going out as well.

jees Chase, you don't look that old. That is you in the avatar isn't it?

Could font selection be in the user profile? Instead of applying to the entire site?

Ummm, yea, but what do I have to do to get that.
    1) click on thread tools
    2) subscribe
    3) select notification type
    4) hit subscribe
    5) back page a few time to get back to where I was

Now to display the list I have to go to User CP, select subscribed list... yada, yada.

Sure, it's not a REALLY big deal but it's so much nicer to have a button up there next to New Posts for Subscribed Threads. I also don't know if subscriptions time out. Pretty soon I'm going to be looking at a pretty big list right? I want the displayed list to be aged out. Not the real list but just the ones displayed. Any subscribed thread with new activity would be displayed in the list no mater how old it is. When I hit the subscribed list button I'll see a list of threads. Some with new posts and maybe some without. The ones without new posts will have been idle for less than n days.

    How's that sound?

Means that the over all file sizes being served will be shrunk down... decreasing the payload on our internet connection as well as on the end users.
