i really want to bypass the coilover route and JUST get a set of springs. i just wanted to make sure there was not a ton of strut blowing issues first.

i am not going to be autoXing the car or driving it very hard, so it sounds like the stock struts with eibachs will be ok.

i just need to try and dig up some information on the specific differences in the pro kit and sportline kit first.

the hotchkis kit was my first choice, but wont give me the stance that i am looking for.

Eibach Sportlines is a stiffer ride then the Pro-Kit. The Pro-Kit is more subtle. Also Sportlines is 2" drop in the front and 2.4" drop in the rear.

Also I know of a guy who's had the Sportlines on his car for atleast 20k miles already and no blown struts. Just have to be careful.

If I were to choose all over again I would probably go with the Prokit since the Sportlines you are slammed and the ride is a lot stiffer.

thanks a TON. very sweet that you and your mrs. have same color srts..

from the looks of that, i will probably go with the sportlines. i am going to be sticking with stock rims/stock size tires. my old tib had a prokit with kyb struts and i woulda liked it a bit stiffer.

the front lip im throwin on the car should protect the stock bumper if i scrape at all.

    thanks again.

hmm.. so either slammed and a stiff, better handling ride... or more subtle drop with a more comfortable, bit better than stock handling...

    decisions, desicions..

Thanks and no problem! Whichever you choose good luck! These cars dropped on Sportlines look great and if you get more suspension mods (sway bars, strut bars, etc.) you would be impressed. My car handles like a go-kart hahaha.

yeah. its my DD and family car so im not looking for the go-kart feel lol.

i guess ill flip a coin and see which one wins, sportline or pro kit..

im just hoping the sportlines aren't TOO stiff, if i choose those.. im not worried about the ride height being too low cuz of the lip, but more of haveing an uncomfortable daily driver.

i have the prokit on mine and ive not had a problem yet, hell ive made a few trips to indy and back (3 hour trip one way) and the ride isnt much worse then stock imo. cant tell ya what to get but ive been happy with the pro kit so far.

    thanks for your input. :thumb3:

Whitefwdsm if you could shed a TINY bit more light on this to bring me to my final decision that would be awesome.

If you were to rate the stock suspension vs. prokit vs. sportline, in terms of stiffness how would you rate them.. and also in terms of handling.

I like the feel of the stock suspension right now.. its pretty good for a stock suspension IMO.

I would rate the stock suspension as like a 3 for stiffness and like a 4 for handling.

Using that as a base, what would you say prokit/sportline is.

Mallingwan I could use your input on the prokit if you wouldn’t mind.

    2 cents...

the goldline would be a 6 for stiffness and 8 for handling.
its a smooth ride and holds great on corners and no rubbing

the Tein springs that i installed on my buddy Marios skittle would fall as an 8.5 for stiffness, as for handleing i wound know because its a stright shot from the AFB to my home and i wasnt driving.

alright, caled eibach today and i got the spring rates for both kits..

    eibach prokit:
    Front: 154
    Rear: progressive 63-150

    eibach sportline:
    Front: progressive 114-246
    Rear: progressive 57-177

    stock is:
    Front: 175
    Rear: 125

i think i will go with the sportlines. with the complete progressive design, under normal driving conditions wont be too harsh, but when pushing the car, i will get the higher spring rate that i would want.

I bought the car with the pro kit with stock struts on it so I am not sure what stock feels like. What I hate about it is when I am on the freeway and I hit some different area's the front end bounce's up and down on the front end. The front is a little low for Michigan winters so I think I am going to buy the Mopar Springs and just put them in the front and leave the Eibach in the back with Tokico adjustable's.

yeah, thats one of the things that turned me off about buying the prokit.. although the front is lower, the spring rate is less than stock on the front and its not a progressive spring, just the rear is on the pro kit.

i didn't have any problems really with michigan winters (i just moved to ABQ from michigan 4 months ago) just had to drive very careful, and sometimes i plowed a bit of snow in my tiburon (front clearance was about 3.5-4") although i was in the utica area and the roads were decent, but we still had our share of crappy roads.
