We had photo radar. There was a huge uproar from communities. New Party comes into power. We don't have photo radar anymore lol...
Geez. 8 mph over seems a bit needy. As far as your argument goes, its kinda hard to fight. Remember, driving is a privilage, not a right.
F THAT...im glad they would never be able to do that here...too many kids would take out the cameras with paintball guns or something hahaha
Just follow the Benjamins. Never has been about safety. Mains -I guess your Dad has learned the hard way . Bad boy him speeding 8mph over limit. He was a real menace to society right. I know when we were in europe we encountered these cameras and they scare the hell out of you when the cameras flash. In NJ our illustrious Gumment has decided to LOWER the speed limit on our Parkway to 55mph. :surprise:I can't wait for the enforcement of that during rush hour. Road was designed for 80mph like most major highways. 85% of all drivers SPEED. We live in the Nanny state. The gumment always Knows best. Remember -Inattentiveness Kills Not Speed.
the 15% of the people who dont...drive liek 20mph below the speed limit... and are ALWAYS IN FRONT OF ME! hahaha
better then getting stuck behind one of them with state patrol behind u and then u get pulled over......Yea that SUCKS.........lol
For reference, it takes you 0.7 seconds to blink your eye. I wonder what happens if there's gridlock. Do they send 387 tickets to the same person?
Don't kid yourselves. The publics safety or any other benefit to the public is NEVER a factor in any political decision. When your legislator votes, it is purely for political gain or some other benefit to them. Politicians do for themselves in the name of the public. They know how to spin it so you think they are doing it for your benefit but that is never the case. They are playing a chess game and their goal is to win even if it is at yours or anyone elses expense. In a situation like the cameras, the politicians win big. They vote for the cameras and the public thinks it is for their safety while they get their palms greased by the companies that will profit from the cameras and the city gets a new revenue stream. If your city does not have cameras now, it likely will soon because your local congressman sees no negative in voting for it.
Until someone challenges photo radar in the Supreme Court as being unconstitutional and wins, we're screwed. Anyone want to take on the challenge? It will only cost thousands in legal fees but you will be doing us all a favor. Come on...anybody??? I have personally tried to fight 3 photo radar tickets in court. Two of the tickets were absolutely, 100% incorrect. The speed I was ticketed for was off by more than 5 mph. With one particular ticket, I had a case I thought was a slam dunk. Guess what? The judge didn't care that I was right and the facts showed it. He still ruled against me. I could have taken it to the Supreme Court but I wasn't up for the legal costs as 99.9% of us aren't. Our political and legal system sucks. Not that I am aware of others that are better.
Yeah the only way to really attack it would be as a group. because for the most part people will not see the benefits of arguing that hard for a 160-300 dollar fine.
Fixed. This is the exact reason I vote. I've been hosed by judges more times than Rambo. I go into the booth and EVERY single judge gets a big ol' "NO" from me. Just doing my part. :usflag:
Dammm freaking lights!!! every time i go thought the light i go through at 20-25mph or detour around them!!!
whee My GF got a ticket for speeding in a residential area that has bad speeding / traffic problems because it routes around the shopping mall traffic back to where we actually all live hehe. 2 months later, she gets a notice in the mail; The City of San Jose has decided to stop enforcing speeding by the use of speed cameras. Your $318 fine will be refuded. She got her money back already :band:
