Fellow enthusiasts: Lone Star Mopar Fest (LSMF) is a family-friendly gathering of 2005-2012 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Challenger, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT owners. As enthusiasts we wanted to create and event where appearance and performance converge. In 2011 we hosted LSMF2011 with an overwhelming response of 275 vehicles. Of those 275, 102 decided to take their skills to the track for 1/4 mile or autocross action. It doesn't matter how stock or how custom your car is. It doesn't matter how fast or how slow you car is. What matters is you come out and have fun. For 2012, we've added a Kickoff Meet & Greet on Friday Night at the Host Hotel with a Best Illumination Contest. First, second, and third place will be announced on Saturday at the main event. The event day will have something for everyone: People's Choice Show & Shine 1/4 Mile Racing Autocross Vendor Alley Kids Zone This event is free to all owners of participating vehicles and their passengers. You must register your vehicle for an admission ticket. You must have an admission ticket to park in inside the show-n-go area. For 2012 the Lone Star Mopar Fest will have a Kickoff Meet & Greet on Friday Night at the Host Hotel. In addition there will be a Best Illumination Contest sponsored by Advanced Automotive Concepts/Oracle of Houston. First, second, and third place will be announced on Saturday at the main event. So get ready to put on your best light show for the judges.
2012 RACE PROGRAM SPONSORED BY NORTHWEST CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM Here is some additional details for those that have been wanting to understand what the race venue will be at LSMF2012. A $20 "Tech Card" is require to participate in track events (purchase on-site). The tech card covers both the Autocross and Drag Racing. Autocross Short course located at far side of the race track (on exit lanes of quarter-mile race track). This is a way for you to see in a timed session how you can handle your car (and how your car handles) under some acceleration, braking, turns and small area of navigating through some cones. There will be awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fastest times. Quarter-Mile Racing We have several options for those interested in taking there car down the track. We will use the timing equipment, so you will be able to see your reaction time, 60ft time, 1/4 mi elapsed time and mph crossing the finish line. A HELMET IS REQUIRED FOR ANYONE RACING DOWN THE QUARTER-MILE. Helmet socks will be available for $1 on site should you want to share a helmet with another racer. Race Schedule Drivers Meeting Test & Tune Open to all classes. Heads up racing. Open session used for drivers to "shake down" their car to identify time bracket they want to compete in (optional). Grudge Match Races for specific pairs of cars. - old, new, shops, forum grudges, etc. These will run at the same time as Test & Tune. There will be dedicated staging lanes for participants. A track official will coordinate staging. Bracket Race (begins immediately after Autocross session) Driver will determine which classification he will enter during the previous open test & tune session. His or her best time or "dial in time" will be submitted to the registration tent prior to or during the autocross for bracket racing purpose. This is a single elimination event. Those participating in bracket racing MUST present a time slip or dial-in prior to autocross racing. This will give us time to coordinate with track officials. Time slips will be used for classifications. Classes Fastest 6 Cylinder (2.7L, 3.5L, 3.6L) Fastest 5.7L Fastest 6.1L Fastest 6.4L Fastest Power Adder Fastest Reaction Time Big Dawg Bracket Winner Additional Definitions Heads Up Racing: Races initiated with starting lights in unison. Bracket Racing: Races initiated with one side allowed to start the race at a pre-determined amount of time before the other side. This is established by the difference in times supplied beforehand by drivers. Each driver must provide his or her time that they feel their car will run the ¼ mile in. Those that finish ahead of their time "break out" or lose. The car finishing first without "breaking out" wins. Big Dawg Race FinaleThe 8 fastest cars of the day will be invited to the Big Dawg Race. Fastest time meaning to be the fastest including reaction time. This will be a single elimination event with match-ups determined by drawing cards. Pairing will be by lowest to highest cards - 2,3 4,5 6,7 8,9. The second round will be- 2,3 4,5. The final will be between the winners of the second round. We are excited to be able to offer something for those just getting started and to the more serious racers. As enthusiasts we wanted to create an event where owners who like to "show" and owners who like to "go" can all gather in one place. We call it "Where Appearance and Performance Converge". In 2011, we hosted the first LSMF with an overwhelming response of 275 vehicles. Of the 275, 102 owners decided to take their skills to the track for 1/4 mile or autocross action. What everyone appreciated was it doesn't matter how stock or how custom your car is; it doesn't matter how fast or how slow you car is. What matters is you come out and have fun. There is something for everyone at this event: Texas-Sized Meet & Greet-275 cars registered last year and already at 150 registered since July 2nd! People's Choice Show-N-Shine Vendor Alley-Advanced Automotic Concepts, Advanced Racing Dynamics, Billet Technology, Speedlogix, Tommy Pike Customs, just to mention a few! Quarter-Mile Racing Autocross Kids Zone_the kids had a blast last year in the kids zone. Food Truck Concession Area-always great to have food and drink available !! Three months from LSMF2012 Excitement is continuing to build for Lone Star Mopar Fest 2012. Registration is currently at 273 vehicles, just 2 shy of the 2011 total. You can see the initial response to this event has been outstanding. We are excited about owners from all over Texas as well as outside of the state are driving or flying in to spend the weekend with other like-minded owners. We assume you are already registered, but if you are not, be sure to register soon. In addition, if you are needing a room at the Host Hotel, be sure to reserve that now. Over 60% of the initial block of rooms are already gone. Lastly, share your excitement about LSMF2012 with others. Invite as many of your fellow owners, club members, etc to come out.
