LMI now offers a CF version of the Frankentake III and IV!!! These are in stock and ready to ship. For those looking to purchase a good looking quality intake at a bargain price, these are the ticket!!!! Frankentake III - $159.99 plus shipping Frankentake IV - $199.99 plus shipping
ummmmm...... nope..... but at this price, you could sell your c&l for close to what my frank IV will cost new!! lol
How low of a temp is carbon fiber you use good for? Have you ever put it on dry ice? Please test... ..
below freezing........ i have placed my cf at work into a freezer on several occasions in order to cool the inner mold and the liners on the molds. i know my cf and resin is more than stable to below freezing. just curious as to why would dry ice be on the intake??? i could see the intake manifold, but not the cold air intake. just curious....
Sort of a secret but.... Dry Ice is DRY cold, no moisture involved. Sooo... what if you kept your intake on dry ice till you got to the track......? If you used normal ice to cool it it would be wet and it would not be cold enough long enough . ..
again nathan, i really do not see the advantage...... couple of reasons, 1 - once in the staging lanes, burn out box, starting line..... any coolness will likely be gone 2 - my lay up of the cf tubes has a center layer of a thermo insulator of fiberglass/nylon. helps keep the heat of the engine bay out to a point.... 3 - as quickly as the air is moving through the tube, i do not see it getting any warmer than the origin point of the air. just some thoughts...... bottomline, i am confident that my cf tubs would hold up to dry ice!!!
that mold is being worked on as we speak. they are using the lessons learned from the frank IV mold that i just got back. these new mold guys are pretty good!!! i will likely have the new mold within about a month!!!
Dam this looks nice, how does this compare to the AFE CAI, i might have to get 1 P.S. congrats on the nice job in FL
i think it looks a hell of a lot nicer than the afe!! lol as for performance, i am not aware of ANY intake that is head a shoulders above the next. just about any system you find will be within a few hp of one another. the nice thing, my systems are real cf and for prices that blow metal/plastic systems away!!! lol btw - thanks for the props on bradenton!!! was a total blast!!!
Man, I am liking that IV!! I keep putting off a CAI b/c I want to KB it when the warranty is done, but your pieces are making it tough on me!!
