this is true in the cases of the cheaper BOV"s but the better ones such as the tial and the raptor have interchangable springs that allow them to operate at any boost level. this was the point with my prior statement, the diaphram type require a bit of hands on tweaking to get right for a certain boost pressure but are just as good as long as they are adjusted right.

i have personally run the raptor from 9 to 24lbs and yes i have had to change out springs and tune the preload but it works flawlessly as long as its done right. the raptor is rather quiet at 9lbs but is ear shatteringly loud at 24lbs.

the tial is the only one to worry about, being the one with the biggest diaphram in the bunch it is designed to work optimally at higher pressures (13psi and up).

all in all this is why i say that the HKS is best for most people, it will handle pretty much any boost pressure without any extra work needed.

Other then then the 'rice-ness' of the sound, the HKS would be my choice for durability, but the turbonetics sound better.

Paul, BOV's are more for functionality rather than sound. You are running a lower boost than Adam, and the one he currently uses (same as yours) does not function well with higher boost. I had the same BOV when I had my Paxton. Was good at 8psi, but barely worked at 12psi. My main issue was the sticking throttle coming out of a WOT run. Good thing for our Brembo's is all I can say. lol

My functions perfectly...like i said drivability is perfect...immediately after WOT it pops open...no leaks either

Looks like i'll be going to the Vortech mondo bov as it works just fine for BJB running 18psi with his YSI!

Should work just right for my v3 on 10+ psi...and i like the sound of the current one

You can hear it at 1:06

Actually, the Jeep kits come with a MUCH better BOV than the LX kits. Paul's BOV is one of the ones I was considering upgrading too. He has the one that Lisa mentioned.

What color/finish is it? In the video it looks like its black with a satin base. Is that right? If so, I'm interested.

Hmmm, slick looking thing but I have to wonder about anything with the working parts on the outside. Wouldn't you have to clean that thing regularly? Little bit of road grime, oil, dust, grit and it could start to stick?

That's got to be the coolest looking one though. Right there with the Go Fast Bits. The Go Fast Bits also looks exposed but I would imagine it's sort of self cleaning on the seal every time it dumps.

With those screws holding the BOV to the Pipe...would you be worried about bad seals?....

that looks to me like it would be pretty prone to a boost leak...i cant see the O rings inside that thing but at least on the TiAL, its a pretty sturdy piece of metal that mates the BOV up to the piping to prevent boost leaks.

There are o-rings too, but yes I would be worried about the security of the attachment. That's why I'm not pursuing this one. That and it's 5" total diameter. I don't think I have that kind of room.

    where does your BOV go?

I forget what blower your running...

the TiAL is not a small piece either...but can be fit without an issue if planned out correctly....

The current one is about 2" from the blower discharge and points down toward the cylinder head. I'll definitely be moving it somewhere else or changing the angle.

Since the TiAL is open under vacuum, do you have some kind of a filter on it?

why would you need a filter?

when in vacuum air is being pushed OUT of it lol....at a very high speed i might add....

    any reasoning for the filter?

just additional safety is all, maybe I can put a filter sock over it just to keep debris out. Something like this:
