At one point or another someone will have a fuel question and it seems everyone has their own "answers" or future "setups". I have read and seen so many setups that it would just throw someone in a twist.

I've seen people push people to certain products (setups) but then they don't even have it or run it themselves.

There has been so many combo's...
    Returnline
    Returnline w/bottle neck fix
Bigger Injectors whether Mopar S2/S3 to DeastchWerks to FIC to even RC
S3 fuel rail, S3 FPR (hybrid setup)
S3 fuel pump or Walbro 255
    FPR mod

Not to mention the different fuel rails (03, Perrin, Boomba, etc) that are in the market or being ran.

To get an idea and compare I figured a thread with the following questions and getting answers will clear some questions for those interested in upgrading their fuel upgrades....

What is your setup and why? Why did you go with that setup and do you actually benefit from it? Do you have little to no fuel, too much fuel? What are your mods that you have would call for a fuel upgrade?

AGP Return Line 10AN(Not necessary for most people)
    LFS Big Fuel Rail
    DeastchWerks 750cc Inj
Dual In Tank 255 Walbro Bottlenecked and Rewired.

I see people running 1000cc+ injectors and I honestly see no reason. With the dual pump setup and returnline I have more than enough fuel. Run about 45psi and do not lean out at all. Only complaint about the dual pump is the way they set in the tank I cannot run hard with less than half a tank. This is due to the pumps possibly running dry. Not really a problem since I dont daily drive mine. Also the reason I have the 10an return line. Before that the guage wouldn't adjust below 58psi so I really didnt know that I was running. Thats mine and it works great for me so far.

I am curious also. I will be going Stage 3, so I am going to use all the Stage 3 fuel upgrades. Not sure if I need anything else.

    S2 injectors, S3 rail, S3 FPR, Walbro 255/rewire

Big wheel (16g6) stock turbo setup. I got it because there was a lot of talk of the sst crowd needing 650's with their cars with full bolt on's (which I am) that and I didn't want to spend the money on a return line. I have more then enough fuel for my boost levels, maybe even a bit too much. Although that could change when I bump up the boost (sitting at 20psi now).

I highly recommend avoiding the PTP FPR mod though. Been there, done that. It was a nightmare and way overpriced and all my friends can vouch on that.

The S3 fuel setup is fine. You can upgrade injectors (if needed), you can upgrade fuel pump to Walbro 255 (if needed).

if anything everyone needs to do the rewire cause the DC motor doesnt like lower voltage than whats it rated for and it will cause decreased life of the pump and u will get the real output of the pump

We have NEVER once done a rewire. Not every car needs it and in the 6 years Ive been messing with these cars, I have never found one that NEEDS it to survive. I feel if you need to juice the pump a bit more to get what you need out of it, than you need a larger pump.

Ive also had cars with 100k miles so Im not so sure on the decreased life either. Sorry mang, I disagree with you on this subject

If your having issues with the dual walbro setups its one of two things. Either you dont have the splash shield, or you dont have the pumps adjusted correctly in the tank. We use dual walbro setups in numerous cars and have ran into that problem. A simple realignment of the pumps has always fixed it.

As for the 1000cc statement, what duty cylce are you at running 45psi with 750cc injectors? I cant think of one turbo thats still making power at 45psi that you wouldnt have long maxed out the 750cc injectors. Fill me in :thanks:

With your turbo it is totally unnecessary to do a bottle neck and re-wire. Ive tuned numerous 44lb wheels and I can assure you of that

I had a rewire on my car and took it off.

My Walbro 255 probably a year old started to wine loud on long distant driving. Just 45 minute-1hr constant driving. Didn't experience this till a few months after the rewire.

The Walbro not being that old, only a year, I think the rewire "constant 12v" started to kill the pump. I just don't see how a fuel pump on an SRT-4 with minimum bolt ons starts to die only being in the car about a year. I never let the car get below a 1/4 on gas.

The pump was new before someone thinks it was a used one. I bought it new from Modern Performance.

Hmmm I think I took one of them thar classes. :smart:
Ohms law man. As long as the windings can handle the added current (and heat) it wont make a bit of difference.

As far as to stillaneons question you should be fine with the s3, and for the record it comes with a walboro 255 IIRC.

    Stage 3 doesn't come with a Walbro 255. Its a 190. I upgraded the fuel pump on my wife's s3 to a 255.

my old setup was s2 injectors, Bottleneck fix and a 255 pump. on the 3147 i ran out of fuel at 380whp

new setup is RC750's, 255 pump, Agp Return line, and the bottleneck this is now too much fuel for the 3147 but its within the range of the fuel controller.

Only reason I heard it is because my wife got out of the car and I had the radio low. So I was like hmmm and started putting two and two together. For all I know it could be a faulty pump.

I got an s3 pump here incase this one takes a crap.
