Well, I was able to give my GC a wake-up call last Saturday. I got both the phenolic spacers and the predator. We did a “baseline†run after installing the spacers and got 346 hp and 358 tq (max). After some tuning and several more ‘runs’, we ended 360 hp and 373 tq (max). Many thanks to Scott at GSM. Very professional, great attention to detail. He absolutely took his time to analyze and make adjustments. It turns out that a lot of ‘smoothing’ of the air / fuel and spark advance was needed. The stock tune had lots variation at different points in the RPM range. No track verification – yet, but SOTP there is a very positives difference in the shifts and a noticeable difference in the way it pulls through mid range (RPM) and beyond. I am very pleased with whole experience – especially the result!! Two interesting things, I heard about the phenolic spacers from Scott. First, since the spacers raise the intake by about ¼â€, they slightly change the angle of the injector into the intake. Scott said that this actually provides a slight performance improvement. Interesting, I had not heard this before. Second, he offered that Chrysler was buying some of the spacers and was issuing a part number for them. Apparently, they intend to sell them as an aftermarket part.
DAVE it was nice meeting you and the rest of the guys sun. IM looking forward to Irwindale to see how mine goes bone stock then ill go from there. You got a great looking srt-8 jeep there and just love that inferno red.
Good choice of mods for the GC there, Dave! Nice hp/tq improvements for a minimal outlay of cash. :thumb3:
Wh M&g Thanks Jim -- nice meeting you too. Hope you enjoyed the Woodland Hills M&G. It is overall a very friendly open group regardless of the ride.
Sweet results! And welcome to the Connection...only a few GC owners on here so far.....Good to have you! Chase
What can I say we already havent talked about! A "canned" will never be as accurate or close as a dyno tune performed with the latest data logging equipment. An engine under load with mods will behave specific to that engine. In the last 5 weekends I have stopped off to see Scott at work on the dyno I have not seen 2 vehicles come in demonstrating the same characteristics. I congratulate you on the performance you squeezed out of your beast!
