Anyone have a favorite iPod dock w/ speakers? I've been looking at some of the Bose models (and they are, as always, over-priced).... Looking now at a model from JBL called the "Creature II", but it doesn't have a built-in adapter for the iPod. Also, looking at a Klipsch unit ("iGroove SXT") that looks promising. Anyone have any other suggestions? :dunno2: I bought Sarah a iPod for Easter, and she needs a little speaker set-up to use while she's working out. Thanks in advance for your help! :friends:
Klipsch makes excellent Shit Jake.....Great sound quality :dancinlock: Bose blows...No highs, no lows, must be Bose :boxed:
LOL! I haven't heard that in YEARS!!!! :towel: Nice. k: I like Klipsch very much! Used to have them back when I was a pc-gamer.... 7.1 surround that would make you JUMP while playing Doom 3. :dance4:
When I worked for Eric I helped install some of those in a Multi Million dollar house next to Paul Allen's place....Very nice stuff IMHO :deshade:
My son has the iHome ($99) and he seems to like it. If she is using it mainly while working out, I would think price would matter a little more than quality. (Which still excludes the Bose) (and I like my Bose system!) And um, while working out, aren't earphones a good option? (Psst, I think it comes with them!:bigwink
I bought my wife the ILUV....its pretty good. Inexpensive but not cheap....if you know what I mean. If you want name brand...I like the BOSE (Sorry Mike) but if you are looking for quality at a decent price check out the ILUV. In the end, they are all probly built by the same company anyways. Well....maybe not but they sure do sound the same. Unless its a walmart special.Just my .05 cents.... BTW...Women tend not to care as much about sound clarity. Just ask my wife about my stereo system in my truck!Hehehehehehh
Not when you're doing bench presses and curls.... and you rip one of those little fellas out of your ear. That happened today.... hence this thread. :bigwink:
They had the iHome at Target... we looked at it tonight. It was nice, but wasn't LOUD enough. My baby listens to Godsmack and Disturbed when she works out. I can hear it from a block away. rop:
I disagree... Although I will agree that Klipsch makes some wery nice speakers! If you want real quality though, you have to spend money on names like: Carver, Nakamichi, or Bang and Olufsen... (But I doubt if they make iPod docking stations:grin
Actually, I prefer a combination of Infinity and JL Audio.... unless we're getting REALLY expensive. :towel: http://home.jlaudio.com/multimedia_pages.php?page_id=15#
I have an Infinity JL audio combo in my truck. I am trying to phase out the Infinity... JL makes some nice stuff though. ..and I WAS talking big money.
Is that RIGHT??? ... Really.... heheheh http://www.gryphon-audio.dk/default.asp http://www.nightingaleus.com/ http://www.neo-speak.com/ ... But, I don't want this to turn into a Audiophile thread. rop: You've heard my (goofy, cheap, crappy) house system, haven't you? I won't spend the money on good shit until we get settled in where we are going to be (and stay there).... I will have to build a room for it. :bigwink:
AudioEngine Model A5 (I think it is the only model they have) Sometimes you see them called AudioEngine5 Maybe not as portable as you need but they rock. They are more like small studio monitors than the typical mp3 setup. They do have an iPod adapter base which also charges the iPod too. They play very loud without distortion and you have the ability to separate the speakers as far away from each other as you want, which I think really helps the sound. I get the impression that they are probably hand assembled by some guy in his garage, pretty high quality for the price. I have the Apple iPod Hi-Fi (really not bad sounding) and a Bose set up with two small speakers and a sub (forgot the name of it but sounds a little better than the Hi-Fi). I think that the AudioEngine5 is superior to both of those.
