This is how much oil was in my Billet Technology catch can collected over 3,000 miles. I did hit the track about five times this fall on this particular batch of oil.

And in case you missed it - or just want to watch again, here's a huge burnout :)

It collected a nice amount there!

Catch cans are a must! I've been meaning to empty the one in the car to see how much is in there.

Really? I actually like the Bwoody catch can, that's currently what I have in the car and I like it.

Others... eh. I need to check out BT's once they make one for the SRT-4.

The McKinney catch can is of excellent quality and design (only comes in your basic brushed finish though).

What's the deal with this, is it normal for that much oil to blow back through the breather tube?? I thought only forced induction caused this?

Get the catch can from Billet technologies Curtis...

The quality is Second to NONE as is their Customer Service.

And yes, it comes with easy to read/view instructions. That's right, they even put pictures for guys like Legmaker so you CAN'T go wrong. lol

I have a B/T Catch Can....love it....VERY easy to install.... I found the instructions after I had it installed.....had it on for about 2000 miles and changed my oil Sunday. When I opened it up it had less than 1/2 tsp in it, so I wiped it out with a paper towel. Now we'll see what happens in the next 5000 miles.

It's not working... You should be getting 1 to 2 teaspoons per tank of gas.

Yea, that's normal for our motors (I think). Some motors generate more than others. Remember that this is mostly condensed oil vapors and not so much blow by gasses (which I don't think condense out so much). Our engines run hot so maybe generate a bit more. Seems that some engines generate more than others. LS2's for example. Most people are seeing up to a couple of tablespoons for 500 miles.

Perfect! Seeing EricG's container it struck me that we should all be doing that. I've been emptying mine (tablespoon or 2) every other fill-up. Look at it, toss it, wipe out the resevoir and put it back on.

I propose this. Get an empty oil container with some volume markings on it like EricG's (that was an empty Mobile1?). Save the catch can oil and keep track of your mileage. With a bit of volume we should get some valid data on what's average and hopefully we'd be able to compare catch cans for effectiveness.

I don't know about what is the best can, but the BT unit is certainly nice enough and really installs easy on the 6.1 as you can see here:

As for the burnout, that was across the street from the shop where I had new tires put on...there was no point is leaving anything left on them:)
