yep....... i emptied mine before my trip to the shin dig and then emptied it again when i got back...... i had twice that much oil after the trip and a half dozen passes on the drag strip!!! catch cans defiantely WORK!!!
To keep the oil from being sucked through your intake I believe...which would be burned off through your exhaust, which causes smoke to come out of the exhaust on initial start up. Al- what did you expect to find in the oil catch can?? How do you already have 700 miles logged?
Yuk!...I checked mine today after about 5k miles and 3 trips to the dragstrip and it was almost half full. I am thinking I want to pull the intake off and clean it now.
how did you come up with that nugget of info dave??? i am assuming you conducted thorough experiments with specific variables. lol
There's plenty of options out there Snow. I went with the BT catch can anyways...cause they, well, they rock.
Some of us whistle have carefully collected and measured the oil when emptying our catch cans over many many miles.
For one thing I would not route it, or manually dump it, back into the engine. I have seen different pictures of this stuff and it does not always look like pure oil. This oil has gone through some combustion gas blow-back hell to get into the can. Put a valve on the bottom of the can and run the line to behind your car. The when the cops are chasing you, you can open the valve and dump oil on the road so they loose traction. Like in the show "Thunder Road".... jees, I bet a lot of you have never even heard of that show much less heard the sound track song.
