That's what a freaking dyno is supposed to be for. You don't do stupid crap like that on the streets let alone with your own kid in the car. Hope the guy puts both of them on skid row, totally unacceptable.

wow. i am a mechanic at a pretty big turbo company, i wouldnt dare take a customers car for more than a driveability test.... although i do enjoy driving fully built twin turbo z06's....

It didn't look like there was any air bag deployment?

I own a collision repair shop and I rarely ever even take a customers car on the street for test drives any more. There is just way too much liability involved.

Have you seen a wreck like that without air bag deployment? I guess maybe it might have been a "slow" stop into a ditch or something? Come to think about it I guess the passenger walked away and no one said anything about serious injuries... I guess those vettes just fold up like a cheap accordian :tomato:

It did look like it ripped the front wheel off and he bent the steering wheel though.

And messed up the stereo/navi, which looked kinda like someone tried to rip it off. God, crappy treatment from someone you sign your car over to for work. And him admitting to putting extra miles on other customers cars like that makes it ok? Uh, no. Anyone I deal with either explains every freakin' mile they added or I don't go back to them.

I have seen many wrecks with LOTS of damage and no air bag deployment. It's strange that they sometimes don't deploy when they really should have. I myself smashed my E36 M3 into a tree at 45 mph a few years back and with $14,000 in damage the bags did not deploy.

But the thing is, is that the owner of that place is not going /wanting to pay for anything over what that guy owed on his Vette. He had a good chunk of $$$ tied up in it. I'd get a Lawyer real quick, for either taking the owner of that shop to court or to get me out of jail after I beat the tar out of him. :starwars:

this is a classic example of why i try to do things to the car by people i know well, or by people that i will be watching over the entire time....... another reason i do not use valets either...... ask ron about valets / rims / curbs........ouch!!!!

You could say it was more than a road test when your car comes back with the seat molded to someone else's butt.
