HOW-TO: Stock Turbo Removal
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry no pictures at this time, if anyone could get me some pictures to go with this how-to i'd appreciate it.
-Remove the battery
-Remove the intake
-drop the charge pipe(two nuts under the car on the oil pan).
-undo the oil and water lines(16mm for the oil send and the water lines and two 8mm for the oil return. be careful not to drop the copper crush washers two per banjo bolt 6 total)
-undo the 10mm bolt on the v-band clamp,
-give the CHRA and comp side a little tap and it should come loose(dont lose the 2 1/4 in washer thing that goes in between),
-have a set of large snap ring pliers to get the snap ring off the comp housing, if you have a small set of snap ring pliers it will be a long fight.
-remove the upper heat shield (4 10mm bolts, soak with lots of PB blaster before attempting to remove them)
-remove the down pipe (three 13mm bolts from under the car and one from up top)
-stop and have a beer or two, it'll make the rest less painful
-looking up from under the car you will see a bolt that goes up into the o2 housing from below, remove it
-undo the brace that goes from the lower part of the block to the back of the turbo(one 15mm bolt, this one seized up on me and i ended up having to grind the head off so care is necessary)
-undo the lower heat shield bolts(as with the upper PB blaster is a must)
-take off the 4 bolts that hold the 02 housing to the manifold it should just come out now
-remove the 10 10mm bolts on the manifold(6 on top 4 on bottom)
I'm doing this all from memory so forgive me if there are mistakes
EDIT: any time the copper crush washers are removed from the turbo they should be replaced, these are not reusable. some people get away with reusing them a few times but its a huge headache not to just replace them when they are out.
