    Chris, it doesn't sound like you've got with the gauges yet? When is the wideband scheduled to be installed? and while you're at it you should get a DashHawk as well for the tremendous graphical logging on the PC and the live display in the car. I think Diablo is working on theirs but you have the Predator already.
    Wideband - I'd recommend the PLX with the OLED display so you could have animated flames to match those under your hood.
    OBDII logging and display - DashHawk
    Tuner - Predator (already have it)

    You know you'll have to have it some time anyway and definitely before the 426 and/or I-charger. It will open a whole new world for you.

    We can help with that and you really should right away. If you've figured out how to get a tune to or from your PC then you're good to go (you have the predator talking to your PC). Basically you plug the predator into the car, setup and start the logging from the predator menu, run the car, stop the logging, plug the predator into your pc, run the dataviewer and you see the log in a graph. You could look at the log on the predator but it's like seeing a spreadsheet a little at a time.

    All you want to do right now is check to see how much knock you're getting (if any). You might log the following during a WOT blast through a gear or two. Like do a 1/4 mile run or maybe just start towards the bottom of 2nd and run it to the middle of 3rd
    Ignition -> BASE SPARK
    Misfire -> KNK ST RETARD
    Performance -> ENG RPM
    Performance -> VEH SPEED
    Throttle -> ACC PDL POS

    Disclaimer: although this may look like a thread hijack, rest assured that Momo is wringing his hands worrying about if he should be worrying about this and is tracking it closely.

    Dave, I was going to start a new thread in the SRT8 How-To section. Will you copy and paste this and start a new thread and title it appropriately? Earlier today when I was trying to figure out how to read logging and save it to the data viewer I couldn't find how to on any forum....including Diablosports.

    BTW...I had an AFR of 12.12 across the board, knock retard or zero until about 4500 rpms in which it was 0.5. My spark advance in cylinder 1 went from about 18.5 to 22.5 as the rpms increased. What do you make of these numbers? All this was with 4% fuel added.

    :cry2: Our RICKY is growing up right before our eyes................:cry2:

    OH CHIT! Rick just went all smart or (QUICK) on us. Rick is the head tech guy for the EQ as of NOW! Jason is just the "HEAD SPECIALIST" and Drew, well he is just DAM old......................

    I'm glad we have RICK to be the testy (not right or left much less both) for the high-flow cats. I'll be putting mine on as soon as Rick gets everything worked out for his. :zorro:

    Sounds like it's good right there. Actually I think that's great cause 18* to 22* timing is really good. I don't seem to be able to get much more than 16* to 17* advance without significant knock retard cutting it back (significant meaning 2 or over up to 5 or 6). 0.5 knock retard (I assume it was short term knock retard and not the long term knock retard) is the next step up from no knock retard. Ideally you want no knock retard except right after you put your foot down, lift, or right around a shift. Then it's sort of expected that you might see up to 4.5 or so for just a bit and it drops right back to zero. 0.5 is next to nothing. The PCM will handle it unless it gets out of hand. I think when you get up over 6 and heading for numbers like 9 it needs to be addressed right away.

    also 12.1 sounds great too. Seem to be 2 camps. "Old school" is (general rule of thumb) right around 12.2 is where you will make the best power. Then some say the newer engines are more efficient and you get best power up towards 12.8. I kind of think you're pushing the edge of lean up there though (but I'm old...). Diablo says they see the best power between 11.8 and 12.2 so go figure. Some say you should be able to get the timing advanced to maybe 24* but I think that takes a lot better octane gas than we have at the pump. Given all that, without a dyno and track it looks like you're sitting pretty.

    Yea I did. I'm thinking about that. I use the DashHawk for logging. I fooled with the Predator logging once to see how to use it and see what it looked like so I've forgotten the precise steps. Maybe tomorrow I'll do it again, write down the steps, maybe screen shots and maybe pics and start a how-to with that. It's a good idea.

    If you want it done right I would recommend taking them to (John) SDCarguy's shop where he has known them for over a decade. The place I took mine to did a really good job but charged $200. I'm not sure if that is a fair price or not??? I do NOT mind doing it at the Navy base for you. Providing that the cats are NOT welded at the X-pipe. I really just wanted to do mine for continuing education purposes.

    For what they had to do with cleaning up after the weld mess, dropping everything and putting it all back up. I'd think that was a really fair price.

    So you're saying is that you're hanging Momo out to dry?

    I thought so about the fair price...but wasn't sure. I would be more than happy to tinker with Momo's car. But I think an install was included in the price of begging for the cats. lol

    In the third party bargaining agreement, install was indeed included. Actually, if I tried doing it myself, it could void the contract.
