    HOW-TO: Bassani Exhaust Installation
    Write up by, SRT8-U

The following are the installation instructions for the Stainless Cat Back Bassani Xhaust System for the SRT8 Charger/300/Magnum.

Step 1: Raise the vehicle and support securely on Jack Stands or car lift.

Step 2: Remove the factory fasteners that hold the drivers side tailpipe and resonator assembly to the rear of the suitcase muffler. Once the clamp is loosened you can remove the assembly for the factory rubber hangers. You may need to use a pair of pliers to unhook the rubber hanger from the muffler assembly. The rear hanger near the bumper will need to be unbolted from the car as it is difficult to get to. Save the hanger for re-installation later.

Step 3: Loosen the factory clamps that attach the stock exhaust to the cat/mid pipe near the front of the car.

Step 4: Remove the stock black cross brace from the bottom of the vehicle, this is held in place with 4 nuts.

Step 5: The rest of the factory exhaust is all one piece, using pliers remove the remaining rubber hangers from the exhaust. The last hanger near the bumper will need to be unbolted, save this for later when the new exhaust is installed. The exhaust is now loose. With a helper, wiggle the exhaust loose from the mid pipe, and it should come free.

Step 6: Time to begin installation of the Bassani Cat Back! Place two (2) 3/4" clamps over the muffler inlet/x pipes and slide the ends over the factory cat/mid pipes. Begin to tighten the clamps but do not fully tighten them at this point.

Step 7: Using (2) 3" clamps install the new suitcase muffler to the two inlet pipes, the flared ends of the muffler mount towards the front of the vehicle and the parallel pipe exits mount towards the rear. Again... do not fully tighten the clamps.

Step 8: Using (2) more 3" clamps attach the left and right tail pipes to the rear exits of the suitcase muffler. Do not fully tighten the clamps. Insert the hanger rods into the factory rubber hangers. Grease the hangers w/ Vaseline first to ease this process.

Step 9: Use the remaining (2) 3" clamps to install the polished resonators to the rear of the car. Before doing so re-bolt the rear hangers into place. Install the resonators , and insert the hangers into the rubber mounts, grease the hagers w/ Vasaline to ease this process.

Step 10: Reinstall the factory cross brace.

Step 11: Make sure all the pipes are lined up, straight and dont rub the body or cross bar at any point. Tighten all the clamps at this time.

Step 12: Lower the car, start the car up and enjoy your new exhaust. At this point you can listen to see if there are any leaks form bad connections or rattles from loose connections. If there are recheck and re tighten the system.
