ya,my 10 is doing that too(fronts)....if I wait and stop harder, instead of earlier and lighter...no squeal. But I looked and the pads are a little less than 1/4 material left... Im going to go ahead and replace them. Which is better...the GREEN or ceramic? Im tired of the dust!
Yeah, that was the explanation I got. If you drive like Miss Daisy, you get squealing brakes. If you drive like Bo Duke, you don't get the noise. I'm sure a LEO would LOVE that explanation!
lulz....I never drive like miss daisy...but I do start braking early and light. Might be my problem. Anyway, I took the other pads back and found out that I was given the incorrect part#. So, I got a slightly more expensive ceramic set and changed them out. These ones fit. So, I'm just going to look up the best way to bed them in and go! And Quick, it is the front pads, not the rear, although I will probably change those next paycheck....I need a decent excuse for taking off the wheels and cleaning them on the inside!
my brakes sequel like a mo fo....when they are dirty... i have found that while it is short term...cleaning them pretty good seems to work...and i mean...with a power washer from both sides...
LOL my stock brakes on my neon went 45k and the rears went 60k. I love the squeekyness and stopping power of Hawks.... Oh wait this isnt the neon section. :ronlove:
Oddly enough, I just googled "bedding brakes", and that link was the very first response. But even before I got to the highway where I did it, the squeal was gone.
Getting my brakes done today. Less than 25k miles and I have to replace all 4 rotors. My car has never seen the track and I would guess a third of the mileage to be highway. So a complete brake job on ~16k of city driving doesn't really make sense to me. Not too happy today, but I will be happy knowing that it's back to normal. LOL, guess I need to stop driving like a crazy man.
