HOME DEPOT FTMFL Just got a call from Bob, the other manager at the store. He said that they had received word from 'higher up' that they will NOT be removing the AVG and installing the AVH. I said, "That's fine. You guys can come pick them up and I will take my TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS to a place that can grasp the term 'matching'. This isn't a [expletive] pizza." I called HD's 800 Cust. Svc. number and tried that route. They're going to call me back in the next 24.
Well, it took a while- and a few rough phone calls- but Home Depot came through. It seems my call to the corporate office did some good. Within a couple of days, I received a phone call from Waterworks asking what day would be good for them to come and install the MATCHING water heater. The guy showed up, I confirmed the correct model number (still with the same SKU for HD though....*sigh*), and let him install it. This new installer did a much cleaner job with the install. AMAZINGLY, the gas line is not at a wonky angle now, and the flues all vent at proper angles. The inspector came by and was pleased with what he saw. It passed with flying colors. I called the local manager, the district manager, as well as the corporate office and thanked them for their efforts.
Wow, glad to see it had a happy ending...Something so simple can become so complex when you have to depend on people to give a shit.
