Hey guys new to the forum. I'm looking to get a 300c SRT8. I don't have a lot of cash to spend on it so I'm looking for an older one with high miles. Are there any problems with these cars in the higher miles?? Any special I should be looking for or just straight up avoid??? Thanks
Welcome to the forum from TN.............Both the 5.7 & 6.1 Hemis have proven to be solid engines capable of 200,000+ miles without any major work. My brother put 140,000 on his 2006 before trading for a 2012 SRT8...he never had any issues with the engine and he drove the piss out of it...never used a drop of oil the whole time he owned it...lot of other Hemis around the forums that have over 200,000 and still going strong. As long as the previous owner(s) serviced the car correctly you will be ok...
What about Trans? That's the main thing I'm worries about. I'm looking at one With around 120,000 on it
Trans is strong also....most of the ones that had trouble were the ones that did not perform schedule maintenance or had 550+HP modded engines..
i love my challenger to death, and i'm really afraid thats where it is headed. i've had the thing for four years and already have over 100K miles. i'm thinkin now that it may not have been a good work car for as much as i drive. the next one will sit in the garage more
I daily drive my SRT. Taking my RAM to work only when I need to haul my gear to work. You can get a good SRT8 for anywhere from $19K all the way up to $25k with high mileage if that's what you are looking for. Which one are you looking at getting?
No their are no problems in 300c SRT8 you can own one,as you saying you not able to afford new one,so go for the salvage cars you will get good one from them and that too with right insurance cover an surely you will get a good mileage car,as at these salvage car auctions you can even have a vehicle trail before buying it,so that would be a great advantage for you.
bwahaha I will have 70K miles on the bone stock trans (minus 2800 stall) and it is still rock solid. Oh yea, and I have been pushing 500+ (600rwhp currentl) for 66K of those miles. You will be fine. Sorry this is 7 months late... haha
