Still think it was a loose belt. Maybe even a loose mount, either blower or pulley mount? Just doesn't show signs of a mis aligned pulley. IMO.
heard that it might have been too tight...i can guarantee it wasn't too loose unless it came undone going down the track...but the tensioner was still in place and everything else was tight... haha i actually put it on a little loser than last time as last time it was tight....
i have seen belts do that when they are to tight. remember the motor grows when it warms up. always adjust the belt tension when the motor is at operating temp.
I will check it again tomorrow night.... i can drive it again so ill take it to work and back and see how it fits then....
haha I have NO idea why I said a loose belt? Rough day I guess? lol But yea, I knew from the last thread (when it happened) that it wasn't from a misaligned pulley.
i know i have a different type setup but on the short belt from the jackshaft to the supercharger that thing is crazy loose when cold (you would almost think it could jump a tooth).
Stevo runs a Vortech (but with a 17% overdrive damper), you're both running the same set-up. Looks like it was too tight.
The only reason I knew was because Steve was very helpful and hooked me up with pics of his blow off valve recently.
gotcha...mine was shipped into the speedshop so i dont know how good/bad their shipping is not really a failure thread.... but teh story was.... I was at the track...and after my 6th pass at blistering stock 98 honda civic speeds....i pulled into the pit area and popped the hood and that belt was sitting on top of the engine (not entirely sure how that got there)....and that was the end of my day haha
I meant the belt failure itself, but okay, i get the gist of it. Hope it was only the tension, and not over load or heat...have you taken any head unit temp readings?
