Well, I will go on record also telling my fuck story of Techco, it’s almost like reliving my experiences with GSM. I left my car with Techco at the end of May, and was told it would be completed in 30 days. The 30 days had passed and still no car. I had a long international trip planned for the mid part of July, and was told it would be ready before then. The mid July time frame came and still not car, I left on my trip and stayed in correspondence with Carlos. I was given very sparse information during my month long trip about my car, and it was always prompted by me either via phone call or email. On the last week of my trip I sent an email to Carlos asking about the condition and he relayed to me all was on track the engine was complete it was being installed. I was also told that my new gauge set was almost complete and just a little wiring was left. Carlos also told me he was going to save the Morso valve cover installation for last as not to scratch them. Then asked if I wanted the Techco Valve covers installed and I replied yes. Well none of this happened it was all bull shit, the car was delivered to my mom’s house on Friday August 15, 2009. I had been waiting for almost three months for my ride to be completed; it was all I could think about while I was on the trip. I kept thinking wow it will be all done when I get home. Well I flew from Auckland, New Zealand and arrived at SFO on the afternoon of August 15, 2009. I had purchased a plane ticket and flew down to pick up my ride on Sunday. The first thing I noticed when I opened the door was my original gauges were in not the new ones. I popped the hood to take a look at my new motor, and what do I notice first, it’s rubber debris all over the engine compartment. I noticed the blower belt was splintered and starting to fray on the inner side. I was so fucking pissed off here my car sat over there for three months and this is what I got delivered. I Called Carlos on his cell phone and had no answer. I was really reluctant to take off for Northern California with the belt like this. Well, who do I think of first to try and help me in my Techco SNAFU, yes it was Cam. I sent Cam a PM message told him about my dilemma, and not long after Cam replied. Cam, agreed to take my car and look at it, and I made arrangements to fly out of Ontario back home. I met Cam early in the morning and he looked at my belt issue, and agreed it would not have been wise to have driven it up North. The belt issue seems to be an alignment problem with the pulleys. Here Cam is up to his ass in work and he agrees to help me out, dam I cannot say enough about this man. I know many of you have experienced Cam’s generosity first hand. Well, not only is he a top notch wrench, he is also a dam nice guy!!!!! Thank you agin Cam Sunday Night as I am getting into my email I find an email from Carlos who tell me the following: Charles, Your vehicle was dropped off Friday A.M. without any issue. I am sorry for emailing you from my personal address but I have no other choice right now. We are in the middle of our move and we have taken the servers down while we transition into our new building. I have taken now until next week off while this is happening. A few things about your car....... 1. Parts that were not installed and not charged to you -DS loop -Gauges - Moroso covers I went to perform a final walk through of your vehicle and found the above items not installed. I was denied approval to complete due to move and certain items needed to finish the install were not at my technicians disposal. I was directed to drop your car off. I do apologize for the lack of completion as of late but this move has taken me to my wits end. I have driven your car and please do the following: Break her in. The instant tq is something that will take a getting used to and all paperwork is in your back seat. The pedal is very aggressive I reply back to Carlos with the following: Hi Carlos, I have been a backer of Techco since day one when the company first was looking for customers. I am really disappointed to say the least in the way my car was delivered to my mom’s house. I can understand your company relocating, and making the move, but that should be no excuse for the condition that my car was left in. We may agreements back in May of what was expected, and what you agreed to, in fact you wrote these down. Several times during my trip I had asked you both on the phone and via email how the gauges were, you replied they were being wired as we spoke. I asked you about the Morso valve covers, and you said they were being installed as we spoke. I was astonished that the valve covers and the gauges were not installed. In fact during a visit to your shop in June, I saw my original A pillar gauges removed and lying in the passenger seat. Well here we are in August and they were reinstalled, but not the way I left the car with you in May, the connector is somewhere behind the dash and not connected. The New Fuel Air Ratio gauge has a bent bezel as it sits in the box. I paid over 1,200 dollars for the set of gauges, and I am truly amazed number one they were not installed, number two they are damaged now. I find it truly astonishing that any company would not communicate with there customer that they were not going to be able to install them. This especially true when you told me they were being installed. The radiator reservoir is almost empty as delivered, and I will need to fill it up. The braded hoses we talked about you installing were not installed. The braded hose that I paid for and that BMC delivered as part of the power steering and radiator reservoir is not installed and not in my car. The power steering reservoir is low. The Billet Transmission cap is missing, the drive shaft loop is not installed, and wow the list just goes on. I wonder what the transmission level is. On the top of my list is the engine compartment is covered with rubber debris. It has coated the underside of the hood the blower, and is coming from the blower belt. It looks like the blower belt is rubbing against something, and you can see the edge of the belt separating. I know this needs to be looked at also before I would attempt to drive the car back up North. My new powder coated rims have scratches on them; they were just finished a few days before I left the car with you in May. I have no doubt in Techco hast to relocate the company has not lived up to what we agreed to. There was no communication to me that this was the way the car would be delivered. I am truly disappointed in Techco, and the product that was delivered to me. I have invested a lot of money in your company, and I am amazed this is how I would be treated. I have also looked all over for that fuel boost pump, and I am unable to locate it, maybe you could help me with it’s location. I also am amazed at the summary of the bill that was sent to me since you have charged me for installations that were not done. I purchased a plane ticket and flew down here to pick up my car and drive it home. It appears to me that the car is not ready to be driven on any trip. I would love to hear your explanation of this scenario Carlos. Is this truly what Techco believes is customer satisfaction? I am looking forward to hearing from you in the morning, to tell me how to proceed. Chuck Archer So for a company that started out with so much promise in my opinion they have gone to hell in a hand basket. Over 20 grand invested with them and this is what they do!! Note: There was an invoice left in my car which deducted the installation cost for items that were not installed. I did not see this until later on Sunday night. Sorry for venting for so long just wanted to get it off my chest.
Well sorry to hear bro, that makes two of us at this point. Here is my story http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15464
Wow...reminds me of the song by Steve Miller Band - Take The Money And Run...So sorry to hear another incident.
I have been trying the cell for Carlos, and have left messages, but no answer, and no reply to my messages!
Avoidance solves nothing...Good vendors stay in communication with customers, especially ones that spend 20k with them.
Hope you guys get it all worked out. I hate seeing a company not back their product and customer service.
i am really sorry to hear your woes chuck...... really makes me start to wonder if there are ANY speed shops that are on the up and up anymore....... seems like these places pop up on the radar screen for a few months, dazzle people with a new product that is the best thing on earth since sliced bread, and then they fizzle just as fast????? why????? it is guys like cam, erik, and ralph that are the only folks besides myself and scott that i would let touch my car!!!
ron just does "naughty" stuff...... the aforementioned folks actually turn wrenches!! dahahahahahaha who loves ya ronnie!!! lol
