So my lease is up....made the last payment a few days ago... time for me to go buy out the lease at the dealer. So far, including my down payment, I have paid $18,519.55 towards the car. I want to walk in hand my dealer a check and say leave me the hell alone lol... How much would you say I should reasonably offer the dealer for my car? 2007 SRT8 Charger, all Options. Sticker price was $45,350.
most leases have a buy out or residual value....try making an offer but your lease is probably owned by a 3rd party and your dealer will have no interest..
Well the way it has worked in the past was that what the car was worth is what we paid (basically like negotiating a used car).... now that the madness happened with Chrysler (and maybe Chrysler financial???) i dont know if that's the case.
It doesn't matter what you paid up to now. It's what the car is worth now, right? If there is a buy-out option in the lease and it's lower than what the car would cost on the used car lot then you should take that. If you could buy the car off the lot for less then you should negotiate. (Haven't you modded the crap out of it)?
Yeah, but worst case I buy another used one....switch everything over and throw them the keys lol... but having dealt with them for 5 years....i really dont think it will come to that...like 99.99999999999999999%

So...update.... Just came from the dealer....spoke to them AND Chrysler Financial... Word is.... CF IS negotiating lease buy outs.... This is done however on a Case by Case basis... So they will look at: Model: SRT8/Daytona/Superbee.... Year: 2005/06/07/08 Miles: xx,xxx Past purchase History: If you own 1 or 5 Chrysler's.... Auction Price: What they can get at auction and where. There are other factors as well but the bottom line is...it is possible that they will negotiate your purchase price. They are going to call me a little bit later with the final deal one way or another....we will see what they say.... hmmmmmmmm...wonder how much a 2003/4 Terminator Cobra goes for right about now......:hmm: :sly: Look whats one town over.....
Wow, that's tough to guess. Make a good betting pool. Pretty low mileage? But with the gas prices and all the "green" stuff the big V8's aren't exactly topping the sales charts. "auction" is when other dealers bid on a car so they can sell it at their dealership. (just for those who dont know what auction is) So the way "auction" is determined is how much the car, in the condition its in, sells for in various parts of the country. So auction price varies car to car....
