I just started the car up and idled it, it stayed around 15.4, a little lean but pretty good, that was neutral btw, so now its idling close to 14.7 in drive and neutral, advance was much more stable as well, however when I revved it for a sec it became sporadic after that , jumped around again, even went negative but the car idled much more like it used to before the problems.
Maybe you're ok but I'd be on pins and needles driving the car at all... It can take way less than a second to do in your engine. You might be just fine sort of babying it around but there's always that moment where you need to get out of somebody's way or something.
does anyone know who would be a good person to call to get a mail order tune the run my 392 N/A? my local tuner said he needs some info on the cam in my car but PPP will not answer or return my calls so I'm looking for a different source that can maybe email me a tune that will work with my car.
DynoSteve @ RDP Motorsports does email tunes (see vendor section). At least for lightly modded cars. Don't know if he'd want to do email for a heavily modded car but he will certainly talk to you about it on the phone first (be prepared for a heavy Crocodile Dundee accent :grin or IM him or PM him...
I just wanted to give an update and sincerely thank everyone for their help. Steve at RDP put together an email tune and the car is running much better, in fact better than it ever has, I had this stupid throttle problem before where the car would jump to WOT/76% TPS, now that is gone so drivability is MUCH better, also idle is better, and the tune just feels more solid. He even did this not knowing what injectors I had! So thanks again to everyone who took time out of their days to help me end up with a properly running car again!
Good deal! Don't know about you but I was sort of worried about you driving around like it was before. I expect you'll take some logs to send to Steve and he'll tweak it if needed? Steve's really great on the email tunes (and the dyno tunes naturally). He keeps a file for every car he's done a tune for. You can call him up in a couple of years for changes and it's like you left off yesterday.
I've sent Steve a handful of logs thus far, he is a really nice guy and came through exactly like he siad he would. I was worried about my car too but I pulled the plugs and they are perfect and now its running great so I'm happy. I only drove is for data logs while it was idling lean and the nice thing was is that it was never lean when there was a load on the car, only at idle so no harm done! thanks again, IrishChamp
