I'm gonna start doing it. Does anyone know forsure about the big Chrysler badge on the trunk? does it really have a hole under the badge?
A guy I talked to at a party this passed weekend, first time I met him, has a 300c over on 300cforumz.com .. I asked him what he had done and he said he debadged the car and had this local guy paint his tails while he filled the hole in the truck. I dont know what year his C was but I cant imagine certain years would have a hole and some not .. who know .. pop it off enemy ..
dam quit with the freakin pressure  what's the best way to take it off? I've heard fishing line and a heatgun/blow dryer
LOL!! Yes fishing line and a heatgun .. be careful with the heatgun so you dont bubble the paint. Come to think of it .. since you live in Albuquerque, you can replace the fishing line with Ron's dick .. I hear hes hung like a piece of angel hair pasta LMAO!
Back on topic... the blacked out look is cool, but you have to be able to stomach things like possibly holes in your trunk, fade from removing badges, possible issues with removing the side moulding, etc. I tend to break stuff, so I opted just to leave stuff alone. If you're into model building and detail work, should be no big deal. That or have friends who are into that stuff.
I will say removing the moldings and emblems were probably the easiest thing yet. Hair dryer (or heat gun if you have it but not necessary...some high tension fishing line...and some lighter fliud (rons trick...it works really good) and you will be all set just be ready to put out some $ to fill in the holes if need be lol
Well, the fact that my car is my daily driver/mom taxi and I enjoy driving it more than looking at it, so yeah, cosmetics have always been more secondary to performance for me. So like I always say, and probably why I'm the LX mod, to each his/her own.
Well I got some good and bad news. The good, I got the BSM's off, still have a little bit on the lines/glue shit to take off but no faded paint on either side. Took it off with a blow dryer and fishing line. The rest of the adhesive came off by me rubbing it with my thumb. Im buying a different grill soon so I decided to experiment with some black spray paint. Here is what I came up with. I think it looks pretty sick. I was also gonna take the headlights out and separate the lenses so I could wipe off the fake chrome but couldn't fighure how ti wiggle them out. If anyone knows a trick LET ME KNOW Comments? And the bad news. After painting the front grill I decided to spray the back trunk emblem since I couldn't just remove it because it has 2 big ass holes. Well as I was using the fishing line the stupid emblem breaks about 1" from the left edge. Still looks pretty good but Im either gonna get a new emblem or have the holes filled And now the only downside is that the stupid Chrysler emblems now stick out like a nun at gay pride week. I need to get some overlays soon. Whatcha think
Hey Joe, I am dropping the car off at Loid's next week Monday or Tuesday, so if you want to follow me over, I can get Chris to give you a nice price quote on filling the holes... Let me know.
