Getting a good sense for torqueing things by feel takes a lot of practice/experience. By the way, that's why they have different length handles on different sizes of wrenches -- smaller wrench, shorter handle and they're all pretty consistent. With a normal type of pull you're going to be in the ball park for that size, generic, nut/bolt. It's almost ALWAYS the case that people over torque things (and never under torque). Heli-coils are a big business... NO. Watch someone else do it the first time. Then you can decide if you want to try it yourself next time. Same for the pulley.
Kyle - I have an OEM pulley right now. And I don't have, nor want to deal with ANY of the things you just mentioned! Lol! That all sounds a bit above my level of comprehension right now! I'll just wait! I hear ya Dave. Loud and clear!
