i had a 57 trim on my tiburon.. very nice turbo, and cheap.. you can even get a BB CHRA for em. gt35 is a lil big IMO
A 35r with a .63 AR is good for 650HP. So the real question is ...Are you going to build your motor? What are your goals? A 35r dosnt even wake up till 30psi and that is well over the 500Hp what a stock Neon motor can handle...
after having a 11 second SRT using a 50 trim, and now a built car with a GT35R, I would never use anything smaller then a GT35R... I don't find it to be much laggier then a 50trim... and when the boost hits bam! like being rear ended by a runaway semi.. here is the major difference, the 50 trim would gasp towards the top of the gears, and my dyno plots proved this, as hp and tq would drop off in the upper rpms, while the 35R pulls and pulls with no drop off... And I won't argue that the 35R loves big boost however, my car on a mere 12psi is rather nasty, yup, 12psi... you would be surprised, but I suspect this is due to the wonderful tuning job Sean of Solid Tech did on this car... He wanted us to go with a 35R from day one, we went with a 50trim, I should have listened to him.. I would run a 35R even on a stock bottom end though I wouldn't turn it up into the 30psi range.... but say 20psi, and the car will pull like a frieght train with no drop off in power.... none.... to me, worth whatever lag it might have.. here is a old dyno plot from the 50trim, notice the car peaks out in hp and tq and then drops off as it goes to redline: and now notice the GT35R pulls rather strong to redline... and let me tell you, one can really feel this in the car..
I have the ATP 35r kit and love it, minus the spool. Ill be getting n2o soon enough to cure that though. I also have a 7200 rev limit so I can take it a little farther.
