And all I have to say is, WOW! The Techco blower looks like an OEM product. Very clean install, and looks good as well. After drooling over the appearance side, Snehal and Brian (lol) took me for a spin. Holy crap, this think moves out on a touch of the pedal. The power is immediate and with a vengeance. Now the in cab sound clips that Techco provided a couple weeks ago are very much amplified. While sitting in the car, you can "Barely" here the whine. This goes for idle, cruising, and mash the gas and go. At WOT you can here the definite whine of the twin screws, but not to the point where you would need to hang up the phone or yell at the passangers in the back seat. It is very much noise friendly. Thanks for bringing the beast over for show and tell.
It is very fun to drive at sea level My old vortech kit did pull a bit harder above 5000 but thats where the boost started to get above 6psi.
When we have it down in SoCal for the dynoday, take it out for a spin Hal. Thanks Ron, I just need another pully to get back the lost power here at altitude. Maureen's beast is looking badass! 4......................2.......................6.
Congrats greatone61, Ron I know you can't wait now to get your beast back huh.... The LX platform should have came from the dealer just like this... twin-screwed up.. very fun to drive I am just scared of getting another ticket..
Yea I'd imagine you'd notice a power difference right away. I know you know this already but screw blowers build max power right off idle (or close to it) while centrifugals build max power at high rpm. Coming from the Paxton you now know what that's like first hand huh? Pretty cool. I have a Paxton on my Mustang and I still remember years ago driving a friend's Cobra with a screw blower and was amazed at the difference, both cool, just different.
Well, I do have a personal chauffeur... I'm just not so happy with the miles he is putting on my truck!!!
Definitely a clean design and install. Those guys have done a great job in their R&D. That blue one suuuuuuuure looks purdy.... but I guess I could settle for a polished version!
