    SRTers

Received some great news the last couple days...I was just selected to command an Air Force Squadron in Florida...so my wife and I will be moving from San Antonio to Fort Walton Beach, FL this fall...

First, heading to Iraq for a six month deployment departing the first of Feb, and then returning here to pack up the house and make the move to Fort Walton Beach...

So are there any SRTers in Fort Walton? Also, will need recommendations for service, etc...

    Thanks in advance:beerchug:

Not necessary Bud...get enough of it on a daily basis...starting out as a young airman back in the 80s and working my way through the ranks, both enlisted/officer, I have never forgotten my roots...we all know who is the backbone of the services and they do not wear bars! I am humbled to have this opportunity!...500 man unit at that!

I was just messin with you. Congrats on the assignment. A lot of responsibility that I'm sure you've proven you are capable of! Taking command is the deal...it's all staff work after that! :king:

Better than some places... (June bugs... ick). Golf is good there. Moffet Field has a really nice golf course. Depending on the base commander at the time it's either a premier course or weeds growing in the sand traps. Can't beat CA for cars either. Keep pluggin and work your way out here. Plenty of unused runway to set up a track too. :thumb:

    Congrats!
