So...my 07 srt8 charger got rear ended. stopped in the road waiting on a school bus when a saturn car rear ends me going 50-60mph. his car is totaled out for sure being that the front of his car is now on top of his engine. suprisingly, he went under my car. and so far the dodge dealer did a quick look and came up with 2500bucks damage. im not sure about frame damage, but i do kno that i feel some shimmy (sometimes) at low speeds and then its all good till i get above 65mph. I've already asked about an alignment check, but is there anything else i should insist they check? being that i do race the car its important that the car is straight.
See if your insurance adjustor will allow for independent (from the dealership) inspection. Motor mounts, transmission mounts Since he went under the rear, exhaust check for leaks, bent hangars, scuffs that affect longevity (scrapes rust, rust eats exhaust systems). Half shafts and rear differential leaks if any (cracked seals). Check for cracks in the paint, you could miss a small one and it will begin to get worse over time. Sorry to hear it man, always sucks when you are the cautious one and doing the right thing.
