Got this for the other cars....and somewhat for mine....i figured...brand new for $150, why not? Jesse's car has codes pretty much all the time...and so does mine really lol....but this has an built in code manual which is pretty sweet...got some other cool features too http://www.actron.com/product_detail.php?pid=16150
The CP9180 is what I JUST used for free at AUTOZONE...its the tool they use on customer cars...it can delete and reset codes...but its lists for $180. Gonna look to see if I can get it cheaper. Some of the Actron units even offer datalogging and graphing...schweeeeet... Tell Hemi~C I said Hi... gotta get that boy to Georgia someday...
yeah its pretty cool so far!.... i got it on amazon....150 shipped to my door....i thought it was a good deal.... gonna test it out this weekend....CEL's on in the g/fs car haha
you sure can.... but i got it for other cars as well...in total, if you count all the ones between me and Jesse's family....we have 13...and since my family isnt exactly what i'd call "prompt" at getting their cars in for service (which is ridiculous cause Mercedes gives you a loaner and will even pick it up for you and drop off the loaner for our dealership)....they dont exactly jump on top of things....this way...i can plug in to whoevers car, and see what code is being thrown.... plus its just easier...i can plug this into my car...and it has a in tool code look up feature which tells me exactly what code i am throwing....which i like...helps people like me who are not as sooper smart as you guys LOL
Makes sense I should learn how to read lol,Thanks for clarifying.I also have one from my pre-diablo days. Funny thing is I think I have one for the OBD-1s as well..
nice!! ive been wanting to get one for a while and still need too. my family is the same way with waiting to get codes checked out and everyone just calls me.
I know that feeling...in November i did 2 brake jobs, 1 oil changes and 1 valve cover gasket replacement....none of it on my vehicles, all free for family. I don't know how it happened, but everyone in my family calls me for car shit, whatcha gunna do?
yeah this thing has a serial port on the top and you can hook up either OBD cord you want / need...dont have much use for it but ya never know lol.... Check out amazon...$150 shipped.... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1ZT0WQY6Z1BZZS6N0C3Z cause your smart! :smart: LOL sad thing is...people come to me with car questions in my family... im usually pretty good with what they need at least...very few people are dropping cylinders or need their heads replaced LOL
Ummm, I think the Predator will datalog (and read and clear codes?) on any OBD-II car at any time -- whether it's locked to some other car for tuning or not. Having the automatic on-board lookup for the code description is very nice though.
Interesting....meh...already got it...and this way my Predator can be limited to the SRT and this for others.... I should look to see if this tool can tell me if my car is in the "Ready State" the biggest issue i had when getting the SRT inspected was...even though i had no CEL's...my car didnt hit "ready state" until x number of miles....maybe this can help me tell?...ill have to look
Don't look now! Just figure it can probably do it and wait until you're a couple weeks overdue for the inspection.
