ATLANTA -- A new advertising campaign from Spirit Airlines has some tongues clicking. The Fort Lauderdale-based airline, which specializes in flights to the Caribbean, is advertising a "Many Islands, Low Fares" special. A limited number of flights to the Bahamas are as low as $9. Most of the flights included in the sale are in the $69-$89 range. On Spirit's web site they are calling the offer the "MILF" sale; short for "Many Island, Low Fares." Yeah right........ here's what the opening image of the online ad looks like.... http://www.spiritair.com/welcome.aspx
Holy crap! that's for real. That's unbelievable. There has got to be a couple of guys in the marketing department doing high fives and collecting from the office pool.
It is real. Log on to their site. The image flashes by pretty quick. Most folks wouldn't have noticed it, but the news services got wind of it, and Spirit got more publicity than they could possibly buy.
can you imagine the ticket sales for the 18 - 24 male demographic going on in ft lauderdale right now!!! hahahahah
Looks real to me. Google "Spirit Airlines", then go directly to their main website, it's the same thing right on the front page. Outstanding! It's just starting to hit the news. Sounds like they're hanging tough... http://www.abcnews.go.com/Business/comments?type=Story&id=3945773
