Wow, that doesn't make sense... They pick a car in a driveway on a dead end street in a nice neighborhood that's not all renters. And they break the window! (can you tell if it was done with a bb gun or spring punch? or did they just hit it with some large blunt object). Why your car? If they were after something SRT8/LX specific like the NAV then they would have verified it was there BEFORE breaking the window and if it wasn't there they would have moved on. It's the hot, fancy cars most likely to be alarmed too. In that neighborhood any car is just as likely to have valuables in the glove box or console. I'm guessing they know you, they know you carry a gun and they were looking for that.:smart:
It doesn't make sense to me either I have always parked my cars in the street, from the SRT, the Lightning, Harley truck even my Corvette. Some of my neighbors forget to close their garage doors at night and nothing like this has happened. APD said that it's happening all over the city :usflag: because of the economy, people get desperate and start committing crimes. They said that It happened to a someone in another neighborhood a few weeks ago when the weather was bad, they broke his window, reached in and looked through his sh!t but never opened the door so it might be the same person. Usually we have our dogs outside and they hear and bark for everything buy like I said it started raining really hard and the wife brought them inside. My guess is that someone figured since it was raining and the wind was blowing that most people would close the windows to their house so they took advantage.
Thats exactly what went thru my head BTW thats just sucks, happened to my wife a few months back and they stole her purse and it was a big pita so your kinda lucky that its just a window that can be fixed easy
my condolences. Glad the interior wasn't worse, vaccum, new glass, tint, put in drive, sip beer at home.
That sucks! What is wrong with people today...it seems like nobody respects anyone elses stuff anymore! :mad2:
Thanks for all your support guys, we really appreciate it. Like someone said at least it was just the window and not the nav, wheels, 2 disc Miley Cyrus's greatest hits collection or the whole f*cking car. We had 2 rearange some things in the garage but we were able to squeeze it in so we feel better knowing that its safe inside Thanls again to everyone for your comments.
Thanks, it sucked but what can you do. It's shitty that we live in a world where people do this crap to other people's cars.:shifty:
Yeah, the window was fixed the same day by Lomas Glass and we had it tinted the following day. It is now in the garage which makes it hard to do anything while both vehicles are inside but well worth it
