Thats fuckin bad ass bro. How does it feel on turns???? No body roll i take???? Thats a wicked ass idea dam nice inginuity. Awesome brotha Mariio
Update i went with even shorter endlinks and the rear stiffened up even more. i went with a 1 inch endlink gap so it would be a 2.5 in sway end link, since the brushing are 1.5in at 20mph i can get the rear to come lose after a 3rd shape yank of the wheel. i havent tried it yet, but im very sure that i can get the car to do a 180 with out an e-brake.
Wow! That looks awesome Chris! How does it feel? Did you do anything endlink wise? Can you get pics of the endlinks please. I've been wanting to do this but I don't have such resources to do it like you did... ie the steel blocks. This seriously makes me want to go to my storage unit and bring the stock rear sway bar back to my house and try to do something similar but I rather have everything I need to do it.
I used the same endlinks as nevin used and they look the same as his first post but u need to check for clearance if your using duel exhaust and and the ass end seems so much better cause I had alot of body roll before and now not so much way worth doing and slot cheaper than buying a aftermarket swaybar
Well I guess I will try to do this. I know know autozone sells a ES endlink kit. I will check it out. The car already has ES rear endlinks but they of course shorter then what is needed (I think). I will then go to the junk yard and see if I can find an extra set of the bushing plates. As far as mounting blocks like what you did Chris, that will be a problem finding/doing. Wonder if a stack of washers would work or even better a bolt spacer (sleeve).
There is now 3 of us with this setup After running around all day scavanging for parts here is my setup: SRT-4 Aftermarket ES rear endlink next to the custom dual sway bar endlink Mounted Running an ACR sway bar with the stock sway bar. The rear end is SOOOOOO much tighter. You can even feel it straight line driving. I took multiple turns some even in 3rd gear and the rear end held the ground like a charm. This was well worth it!!!!
Thanks Nevin! I'll be honest I almost gave up on actually trying to do this. I had to force myself literally. Once I was at the junkyard and spent an hr or so looking for a Neon with a rear sway bar that I could get the extra bushing brackets from I was in the beginning phases. Then I went to Autozone and got the endlinks, went to storage and got the sway bar. Went to my father in-laws house and he cut the sleeves for me. Went to Home Depot for the longer bolts and sleeves (spacers)... no luck. Went to Lowe's and they had it. Too late to turn back.... went home and tackled it. Went for a test drive, I was AMAZED! Came back home and told Cheryl to come for a ride so she can feel the difference. Simply amazing!
glad you finally did it!! its awesome how good it work and for so cheap!!! have you noticed picking up a rear tire when turning into businesses yet!!
