    Long story short:

Car would not start. Swapped out canister with another canister that had a stock fuel pump. Put my s3 FPR/filer on it. Car still wouldn't start. Checked wiring. Friend used butt splice connectors and they were charred and twisted for fuel pump rewire.
Wired it up like stock. Car fired up.

Got connector that goes to fuel canister from 1st gen neon. (Same thing)
    Had it soldered.

Put previous canister in that had Walbro 255 and put the S3 FPR back on.
Car has problem starting up. (Cold start up) If I turn the car off right away and turn it back on it fires right up.

If I turn the key to the on poistion I can hear it crackle a bit at random times (priming)

^This happens once in a while when I take off. Noitce the rapid "shshshshshshsh" noise. What causes that? I notice starting off in first gear it feels like their is a bottleneck and I am not getting fuel. Need to bleed air out?

This is what it sounds like normally to compare with other video. ^

Any ideas? Just an FYI it did the same thing with my stock canister and s3 FPR.

I did do a WOT run and it goes real lean.. I have to let off right away.

we just went through this with astheskyfalls' car the FPR has the fuel filter built into it, it gets clogged easily.

Hmmmm so you are saying its the FPR thats clogged... Anyway to get a S3 FPR anymore?

Would my stock one be fine if I used that as long as I stay out of boost with the S3 demand regulated rail? Maybe unhook the vac line going to it? I believe stock is 58psi while S3 regulator is 72-75 psi.

Also you notice the little black o-ring in there when you take the regulator out..Such a PITA. If that wasn't in there I probably could replace it without dropping the the tank.

Thanks very much for the info man. I never did switch out the s3 FPR with the stock one I guess I should of did that to rule it out.

Well put the stock FPR in and it does the same thing. I noticed the horn relay is the same as the fuel pump relay along with a couple others. So I swapped them around too. Didn't drop the tank. :)

Damn this sucks. Maybe a bad tank of gas?

I also noticed I have an exhaust leak where my down pipe connects to the mid section.

Also curious if its okay to run my car with the stock FPR with the s3 rail. Keep vac line hooked up?

that FPR will be ok on the s3 setup as long as you are staying out of boost.

maybe the walbro is failing causing the issue, and mabye the pcm is trying to drive the stock pump too hard with the S3 pcm.

Well I have had the Walbro 255 in there now. Did the same thing with stock pump. I noticed nasty dark crap that got on my hands when I was taking the s3 FPR out. I do have a new Walbro 255 on my way from ModernPerformance.

Maybe it has something to do with the regulator on the rail or a clogged injector?

Might just have to take the car to a shop at this point.

if it were a clogged injector you would get a code for that cylinder. its entirely possible that both the FPR's you have are clogged.

Well thats good to know about the injector. Odd that both my FPR's cold be bad.

Car started up fine with fuel pump rewire. (S3 setup) Then once my fuel pump rewire went bad, hooked up like stock and have this problem. My stock fuel canister/pump came off the car in march of 09 and car was running fine and starting up good before hand. Maybe since it was sitting for such a long time that ruins the FPR?

Car doe not like the stock FPR in there. Just driving it to work is a chore. Any sort of acceleration over 25% car goes very lean and slows down. Gotta put the S3 FPR back in there.
